Food is the basis of human survival.As a major food crop,rice has gradually developed into a rice cultivating culture in the long production and living practice of human beings.The Hmong in southeast guizhou are a typical mountainous rice-growing people.Rice farming has its own characteristics compared with rice farming in pingba and hilly areas in terms of water irrigation and mixed rice and fish farming.Based on the relevant research of rice cultivating culture,this paper applies the method of field investigation combined with literature,in guizhou province BaiYan Village in leishan county as the object,with rice as the main line composition,focus on form and construction under the traditional rice livelihood model,rhythm of life,and social interaction,thus reveals the cultural connotation and value of rice in Hmong society.According to the research,First,the unique ecological environment of southwest mountainous area is the foundation of rice culture.The systematization of irrigation and water conservancy is an important condition for the development of rice farming,as well as the deep reason for the decentralization of village pattern and the convergence of population.At the same time,the unique livelihood mode of rice,rice and fish symbiosis realizes the diversification of food structure,which reflects the ecological wisdom of the miao people.Second,the age rhythm of Hmong is closely related to the rice production cycle.Rice exhibits different cultural connotations in different rhythms,and the biological adhesion of rice is reflected in social networks as a kind of clustering.Villagers maintain and construct social networks through the ritual of life and the act of giving rice to each other in daily life,and gradually shape and strengthen the social contract and cultural identity in this process.Third,the symbol and symbolization of rice is the key to the expression of rice culture connotation.Fourth,with the development of the society,the connotation of rice culture is constantly enriched,and there are self-adjustment and external tension.At present,the academic circle is getting deeper and deeper into the rice cultivating culture of southern ethnic groups in China.The study in this paper is conducive to a better understanding of the rice cultivating culture of the miao ethnic group,and provides references for similar studies.
