| Morphological variations,turf quality and cold resistance of the 23 wild centipedegrass accessions were evaluated to select merit germplasms from 8 provinces of Sichuan,Chongqing,Hainan,Hubei,Hunan,Shenzhen,Guangdong and Fujian,and "Common" centipedegrass cultivar from the U.S.Meanwhile,SRAP molecular markers were used to construct fingerprints,so as to analyze their genetic relationships and improve the exploitation and utilization of centipedegrass accessions.The main results of the study were as the following:1、 By observing 7 morphological characters of centipedegrass accessions,we found that there were bigger variations among the plant height,the leaf length of stolon,the leaf length of vertical stemsh and the Internode length of stolon,their coefficients of variation were over 14.00%,while the smallest variation was in internode diameter of stolon,and coefficient of variation was only 4.54%.23 centipedegrass accessions could be divided into 2 categories by clustering,the main difference are the plant height and the leaf length of stolon.2、 The turf qualities of the centipedegrass accessions were determined,and most of them had rather good potential for new turf cultivars breeding,the turf quality value of Er22 was the highest,and Er16 was the lowest.In addition,the green period of the Er10 and Er23 were the longest,and the Er20 and Er21 were the shortest.3、 The results showed that the LT50 of centipedegrass was between-9.9~-2.2℃ using the cryogenic circulator.The cold resistance of Er15 was the most strong,its’ LT50 was at-9.9℃,while LT50 of 12 other accessions were between-4.0~-2.0℃ with certain cold resistance.4、The genetic diversity of 23 centipedegrass were analyzed by SRAP molecular marker.55 pairs of polymorphic primers were selected to amplify the DNA of the accessions,and 921 clear bands were amplified,with 606 polymorphic bands and the ratio of polymorphism was 65.80%,that showed the genetic diversity of the tested materials was rather abundan.And the accessions were divided into 6 categories using the UPGMA method,the range of genetic distance was 0.3691 to 0.7390.Moreover,the results of population analysis showed that the genetic background of these centipedegrass germplasm was relatively simple. |
