Transgenic Bt crops play an important role in pest control. At the same time,it may cause environmental risks, especially the impact of biodiversity is also of widespread concern. In the past, most of the related studies took aboveground arthropods as the evaluation objects, but few of them assessed the impact on the soil fauna community in the underground part.Based on an ecological area, there is no report on the comprehensive and comprehensive evaluation of the impact of a transgenic maize material on the aboveground, surface and below-ground arthropod communities.Field trials were conducted in two years at one of the world's three golden corn belts, spring maize production areas, the National Centre for Transgenic Plants Research and Commercialization/Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Gongzhuling,Jilin Province,China. The experimental material was transgenic cry1Ab-Ma gene resistant maize CM8101 and the control maize Zheng 58.CM8101 has now entered the stage of production test.It is one of the most advanced transgenic maize in China. The whole arthropod community on maize field, aboveground, surface and below-ground part was comprehensively studied by using Five sampling methods including whole plant inspections, suction sampler, pitfall traps,hand-sorting and macfadyen method. The responses of soil collembolan to the planting of transgenic maize were analyzed as a single community. In terms of data analysis, based on the analysis of community composition, main population dynamics, and community diversity, community structure was further explored by using NMDS and the factors that cause community changes were explored by using RDA.The results of the two-year study showed that there was no significant difference in the community composition, main population dynamics and community diversity between the arthropods of transgenic maize CM8101 and control maize Zheng 58 in the five sampling methods. The NMDS also proved that the introduction of exogenous genes did not affect the arthropod community structure in maize fields. The RDA further proved that the introduction of exogenous genes had no significant effect on arthropod community, while soil environmental factors, year and sampling time were the main factors affecting the change of the arthropod community. In summary, this study can confirm that the planting of resistant maize CM8101 with transgenic cry1Ab-Ma gene in the spring maize production area of China has no adverse effect on the arthropod community in the maize field.
