Chinese pepper(Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim.),an important economic tree species in China, has a long history of cultivation. With the continuous promotion in recent years, many provinces in China have been widely planted. However,in the early spring, the late frost damage is serious, which leads to a significant reduction in the production of Chinese pepper, which seriously affects the yield of Chinese pepper and restricts the development of the Chinese pepper industry. Therefore, the cold resistance study has important guiding significance for the high yield and stable yield of Chinese pepper.Studies have shown that chitooligosaccharides have a significant effect on plant growth regulation and stress response, but chitosan oligosaccharides have not been reported on the cold resistance of pepper. In this paper, different kinds of pepper seedlings were used as experimental materials, and the pot experiment was used to analyze the cell membrane permeability, osmotic regulator, protective enzyme activity and membrane lipid peroxide under low temperature stress. The aim was to explore the cold resistance difference of pepper seedlings and study the effect of chitosan oligosaccharide on the cold resistance of Chinese pepper seedlings. For the seedling production, introduction and cultivation of pepper. The main findings are as follows:(1)There was a significant difference in cold resistance among Chinese pepper seedlings. The cold resistance is ranked as Fugu pepper(C)>Xinong prickly pepper(B)> Hancheng prickly pepper(E)>Hancheng lion head pepper(A)>Hancheng Dahongpao pepper(D)>Ya'an pepper(F)> Guizhou Liupanshui pepper(G).(2)The chitosan oligosaccharide solution significantly improved the cold resistance of the pepper seedlings of Liupanshui in Guizhou. The free proline content after 50 PPM and 125 PPM treatment was significantly lower than other treatments;the soluble sugar content was more stable after treatment with chitosan oligosaccharide solution than the control group(CK);the soluble protein and peroxidase activity were extremely significant under 100 PPM treatment. It was higher than other treatments;the decrease of 100 PPM was the smallest in the catalase activity treated by chitosan oligosaccharide solution;the content of 75 PPM and 100 PPM malondialdehyde was significantly lower than other treatments at 4? to 0?.According to the comprehensive cold resistance evaluation, the Guizhou Liupanshui pepper seedlings under 100 PPM treatment showed stronger cold resistance.
