At present,the research results of protected areas based on the natural quality of cultivated land are rich,but the consideration of the intensity of cultivated land use is slightly insufficient.Comprehensive and accurate analysis of the contradiction zone of cultivated land is an important prerequisite for scientifically carrying out farmland protection work.Based on the comprehensive relationship between the natural quality and the intensity of cultivated land,the relevant indicators are selected from the two aspects of natural quality and cultivated land use intensity,and a two-variable evaluation system is constructed.The spatial selfcorrelation method is used to explore the natural quality of cultivated land in Hubei Province.Based on the intensity and the spatial structure characteristics and aggregation laws of the two,the three arable land protection zoning schemes are obtained and evaluated.The results show that there is a certain spatial positive correlation between the natural quality and utilization intensity of cultivated land in Hubei Province;based on the spatial autocorrelation results of single-variable cultivated land natural quality,it can be divided into three categories: comprehensive improvement zone,maintenance utilization zone and key protection zone..Based on the spatial autocorrelation analysis results of univariate arable land use intensity,it can be divided into restricted use area,maintenance use area and enhanced utilization area.Based on the results of bivariate spatial autocorrelation,the cultivated land in the province can be divided into four types: restricted use area,maintenance use area,intensive use area and key protected area.Based on the univariate space autocorrelation cultivated land protection zoning scheme,there is a certain degree of separation from Hubei Province.The actual geographical natural conditions,therefore,the results of the auto-correlation analysis of the two-variable space are the basis of optimal protection.When formulating the arable land protection zoning plan,combined with the characteristics of the auto-correlation type of the two-variable space,the local county-level units are protected against local conditions.Order construction timing.Objectively reflecting the contradiction between the natural quality and the utilization intensity of cultivated land in the region,it can provide reference for the province's arable land development and protection to achieve precise positioning,differentiated management and protection and demarcation.
