Arable land is the essence of land resources,the production materials necessary for agricultural development,the basis of food for human survival and development,and the basis for human beings to settle down.The quality of arable land is closely related to the country’s food security,social stability,and economic development.On the one hand,China’s per capita arable land area is small,the proportion of high-yield and stable-production arable land is small,and the reserve resources of arable land are also decreasing.This is the status quo of arable land quality in China;on the other hand,as China’s urbanization and industrialization process accelerates,various reasons such as urban expansion and natural disasters have led to the rapid consumption of arable land.Therefore,the basic soil strength of arable land has rapidly declined,and its quality situation has been affected to some extent.Therefore,the protection of arable land quality is imminent.Under such circumstances,it is very necessary and very meaningful to study the change of time and space on the quality of arable land.Based on the relevant researches on the quality of arable land at home and abroad,this paper discusses the theoretical basis of quality in detail and introduces geostatistical methods to analyze the temporal and spatial changes of arable land quality in Hunchun City.In this paper,the author selected Hunchun City as the research target.In terms of data,it uses two major statistical bulletins on social development and national economy and the statistical yearbook in this field as support;in terms of standards and procedures,based on the revised method of arable land quality evaluation and spatial autocorrelation,with the help of Arc GIS,MATLAB and other software technology platforms,qualitative IV and quantitative evaluation of the temporal and spatial changes of arable land quality in Hunchun City from 2009 to 2017,new ideas are provided for related land consolidation planning,land space planning,permanent basic farmland protection,food production security,arable land protection zoning,and arable land quality improving.The results show that:(1)The quality of arable land in Hunchun City is evaluated in 2009-2017.The evaluation index interval in 2009 is 388.12-2334.99,and the evaluation index interval in 2017 is 489.22-2096.53.It divides the arable land in 2009 and 2017 into five levels.(2)This paper analyzes the quality and distribution characteristics of arable land in Hunchun City from 2009 to 2017,and found that the area of rade Ⅰ,Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ arable land has an increasing trend in time series,on the other hand,the area of Grade Ⅳ and Grade Ⅴ arable land has an reducing trend in time series.At the same time,the quality level of arable land in all townships in Hunchun City has been improved evenly,indicating that the quality of arable land at all levels in Hunchun City was better in time series.(3)Calculating the contiguousness of arable land in Hunchun City from 2009 to 2017,it is found that the variation range of fragmentation index is 3259.13-3449.07,and the fragmentation index shows a uniform upward trend,indicating that the contiguousness of arable land is gradually weakening with the economic development.There are many mountains in Hunchun City,and the terrains of different townships are different,leading to different fragmentation indexes of townships,which is difficult to form.(4)The arable land concentration index of Hunchun City in 2009 was 2.0039,and the arable land concentration index in 2017 was 2.0159.Although the change was not large,the overall trend showed an upward trend,and it is more complicated to refine the concentration index of the arable land in the townships,with the development of the time,the arable land concentration index of Jinhai Street,Machuanzi Township and Yangpaomanzu Township continued to increase steadily,the arable land concentration index of Chunhua Town,Jingxin Town,Sanjiazi Manchu Township and Mijiang Township decreased slightly;The arable land concentration index of Banshi Town,Ying’an Town and Hadamen Township has increased or decreased,but the overall trend is not obvious.(5)Taking the quality level of arable land in Hunchun as a spatial variable,the spatial differentiation of the arable land quality in Hunchun City was discussed from the municipal,township and village levels using the global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation analysis.The average value of Moran’s I value of arable land quality level is higher than that of township level,township level is higher than village level,and it shows an increasing trend in time series.(6)For the future use of arable land,Hunchun City needs to carry out targeted protection activities on the basis of cherishing the existing arable land,especially efforts should be made to improve the quality of arable land,use farmland more efficiently,and give full play to the functions of the government.In the actual situation of Hunchun City,appropriate measures were taken for the arable land in different areas of Hunchun City according to local conditions.
