Wheat aphids are the most economically important pests on wheat plant globally. At present,China's prevention and control measures are still dominated by chemical prevention and control. The excessive application of chemical pesticides poses severe challenges to agricultural production safety, agricultural product quality safety and ecological environment safety.Breeding and planting aphid resistant varieties is an effective green prevention and control measure. In this study, field aphid resistance of wheat germplasm materials from the national wheat germplasm repository have been identified for two consecutive years in accordance with the technical specifications for wheat disease and insect resistance evaluation of the ministry of agriculture.Among them, there were 8 octaploid trititrigia of common wheat crossed with Thinopyrum and 6 hexaploid triticale of common wheat crossed with Secale.According to the results of field investigation, four germplasm materials with different levels of genetically stable resistance were selected(trititrigia 21-22 and triticale 31-32),and the feeding behaviors of Sitobion avenae on these four germplasm resources were identified by EPG technique. The resistance levels of different wheat germplasm resources to S.avenae were analyzed both by the method of field fuzzy identification and by the EPG identification in the laboratory. The purpose of this study was to screen the germplasm of wheat resistance to aphid and provide a basis for breeding and the resistant mechanism investigation of wheat to aphid. The main results are as follows:1.Fourteen wheat germplasm materials have been identified for two consecutive years. Most of the trititrigia were of low or medium resistance, and 5 of them showed stable aphid resistance, while most of the triticale was of low or medium sensitivity, and no germplasm materials showed immunity or high resistance to the S.avenae.There were two with moderate resistance, respectively, trititrigia 21 and 23,and there were trititrigia 22,24 and trititrigia 26 with low resistance. There were 4 wheat materials with low and medium sensitivity and 1 with high sensitivity.2.According to the basic waveforms of Np,P,Pd,E1,E2,F,and G by the record of aphid feeding, the time for initial probe of S.avenae on trititrigia was significantly longer than that of triticale(P<0.05),and the duration of E1 wave with the secretion of water saliva of trititrigia was significantly longer than that of triticale(P<0.05).The duration of F wave(cellular mechanical hindrance)on trititrigia 21 and the non-feeding Np wave on the trititrigia 22 were the longest. And the P wave(probing wave)on triticale 31 and the xylem feeding G wave on triticale 32 had the longest duration. So the field identification on the resistance of wheat germplasm resources to aphid based on fuzzy recognition technique was basically consistent with the identification by using EPG.The non-feeding time of S.avenae on trititrigia 21 and 22 were much longer compared to the other germplasm resources. The mechanical resistance to aphid stylet detection and penetration could be the highest on feeding trititrigia 21,and the feeding interruption could be the highest on trititrigia 22.Therefore,it was speculated that the resistance mechanism of two kinds of trititrigia to the wheat aphid might be non-selective binding antibiosis. The results showed that the octoploid trititrigia could be used as germplasm material for breeding wheat resistance to aphid.
