Research On Control Of Crown Gall Of Cherry In Zaozhuang Region

Crown gall of cherry,also known as rhizobia,is a worldwide plant bacterial disease.It mainly occures in the root neck,main root and lateral root of cherry trees,with spherical or irregular flat spherical tumor shape.As plants are suffered Crown gall,they grow slowly and weakly,even to dead under serious cases.Crown gall is also the main dangerous disease of cherry.Zaozhuang city is the traditional planting area of cherry,and the crown gall of cherry is very serious,so it is urgent to find a simple and scientific way in prevention and control of the disease.In this paper,effects of six pharmaceutical products,Zongyue 168,Feikeli,Streptomycin,Origen,Qingjing and Bijian on crown gall of cherry were studied.The cherry trees with crown gall in the field were irrigated regularly and quantitatively by the six pharmaceutical products.The morbidity,disease index,fruit,root,branch and other indicators among different treatment groups were measured and calculated.The main results are as follows:1.In Zaozhuang city,the incidence of crown gall is more serious in the old orchard than in the new one,with the incidence of old trees over 20 years exceed 95%.The morbidity and disease index increase with the tree age.Trees with severe disease are covered with tumors.The inceasing tumors will damage phloem,block transport of nutrient and water,resulting in tree weakness and death.In some cherry trees with crown gall,there are also insect borers and gum-rubbing phenomena.2.The pharmaceutical products Zongyue 168 and Feikeli have the best effect on preventing and controlling cherry crown gall,with the optimum concentration 200 times Zongyue 168 solution and 250 times Feikeli solution,respectively.Compared with irrigating with water,irrigating with 250 times Feikeli and 200 times Zongyue 168 solution,the disease index was decreased by 30% and 19.44%,mortality rate was decreased by 20%,and the rate of intact plant was increased by 200% and 350%,respectively.Thus,crown gall of cherry can be prevented and controlled by irrigation of pharmaceutical products Zongyue 168 and Feikeli.The mechanism was that these treatments make cherry trees grow new roots on canerous tumors and cancerous tumors shed,and ultimately keep cherry yield from the damage by crown gall.The method solve the problem of cherry crown gall in cherry planting areas in Zaozhuang and other regions.3.The pharmaceutical products Zongyue 168,Feikeli,Streptomycin,Origen,Bijian and Qingjing also have the increasing effect in yield and quality of cherry.Comparing with irrigating by water,cherry yields were increased by 129% with 150 times Zongyue 168,150% with 200 times Zongyue 168,121% with 250 times Zongyue 168,182% with 200 times Feikeli,110% with 250 times Feikeli,151% with 300 times Feikeli,151% with 2000 units of streptomycin,207% with 300 times Origen,164% with 300 times Bijian,105% with 300 times clean,respectively.Treatment with 300 times Bijian has the most production of cherry.
