A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of different sugar sources on growth performance, serum biochemistry, immunity index, insulin receptor 1 and tyrosine kinase activity of GIFT tilapia. It has been found that(Larimichthys croceus),(Ictalurus punctatus),(Scophthalmus maximus Linnaeus)and flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus)have the best growth performance at the glucose level of 13.64-21.15%,16-24% and 15-18.5% respectively. Our previous research found that the growth performance of GIFT tilapia was better when the starch level was 18%.Therefore,the addition level of glucose, sucrose, dextrin and starch was designed to be 18% in this experiment.480 GIFT tilapia with specifications of 31.70±0.68 g were selected and placed in 16 aquariums after sterilization. The experiment was divided into four treatment with four replicates of thirty fish per tank. After 70 days of feeding, the results were as follows:1.The results of growth showed that the weight gain rate and specific growth rate of sucrose group were significantly higher than those of glucose group, dextrin group and starch group, while the weight gain rate and specific growth rate of dextrin group were the lowest(P<0.05).2.The results of serum biochemical indexes showed that there were significant differences in glutamic oxalate transaminase, alanine transaminase, uric acid, total cholesterol and total triglyceride between sucrose group and other three groups(P<0.05).3.The results of fish body composition showed that crude protein in glucose group was significantly higher than that in sucrose group, dextrin group and starch group(P<0.05).4.The results of body index showed that the viscera indexo of GIFT tilapia was most significantly affected by sucrose group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the fatness index of each group(P>0.05).5.The results of serum immune indexes showed that the activity of SOD in sucrose group was significantly higher than that in starch group, the activity of lysozyme in sucrose group was significantly higher than that in glucose group and dextrin group(P<0.05).6.The results of glycogen content showed that sucrose group had the highest glycogen contentin liver and muscle, which was significantly different from other groups.7.The results of serum insulin level and blood sugar content showed that the concentration of serum glucose in glucose group and sucrose group was significantly higher than that in starch group and dextrin group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the concentration of insulin among groups(P>0.05).8.The results of tyrosine kinase activity showed that the concentration of tyrosine kinase in liver and muscle of glucose group was significantly higher than that of other three groups(P<0.05).9.The egene xpression of IR-1 in liver of GIFT tilapia was not significantly different among groups(P>0.05),but the gene expression of IR-1 in muscle was significantly different among groups(P<0.05),and the gene expression of IR-1 in muscle of starch group was significantly higher than that of other three groups(P<0.05).Based on the above results,it can be concluded that the sucrose group not only significantly increased the weight gain rate and specific growth rate, but also significantly affected the biochemical indicators such as alanine aminotransferase, glutamic oxalate aminotransferase, uric acid, cholesterol and triglyceride of GIFT tilapia. The effect of sucrose group on the above indicators was significantly higher than that of glucose group, dextrin group and starch group. The crude protein content of fish body composition in the glucose group was the highest. The concentration of tyrosine kinase in muscle of glucose group was significantly higher than that of other groups.Different sugar sources significantly affected the gene expression of IR-1 in muscle. The order of influence was starch group, sucrose group, dextrin group and glucose group.Different sugar sources had no significant effect on the genr expression of IR-1 in liver, but from the data results, the effect on starch group was small, while greater on the other three groups. In conclusion, compared with dextrin and starch, sucrose and glucose can be better utilized and show good growth performance in terms of specific growth rate and weight gain rate.
