The study using 400 d-old Arbor Acres broilers was conducted to assess the effects of different sources of zinc and manganese on growth performance, meat production, antioxidant status and immune response in broilers. The birds were randomly allocated to 5 dietary treatments with 10 replications of 8 birds each diet.Broilers were fed starter diet from d 0 to d21 and grower diet from d 22 to d 42.Dietary treatments were as follows:T1,MnSO4+ZnSO4;T2,MnSO4+domestic Zn-Met;T3,MnSO4+Zn-Met imported;T4,Zn-Met+Mn-Met?Both were domestic?;T5,Zn-Met+Mn-Met?Both were imported?.All birds had similar average daily feed intake?ADFI?,average daily gain?ADG?and feed/gain?F/G?throughout the entire experimental period. The meat production were not affected?P>0.05?by sources of Zn and Mn.Supplementation of Zn-Met and Mn-Met to broiler diets increased activity of Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase?Cu-Zn SOD?at 21 and 42 d of age,but reduced?P<0.05?malondialdehyde?MDA?content in the serum of 21 d by supplementation of Zn-Met compared to control diets. No significant differences were observed in the serum total antioxidant capacity?T-AOC?and glutathione peroxidase?GSH-PX?of broilers among treatments at ages of 21 and 42 days.Broilers fed diet supplemented with Zn-Met had a lower bursa index of 21 d and thymus index of 42 d.Dietary supplementation with Zn-Met and M n-Met imported decreased bursa index at 42 d of age.All birds had similar spleen index in the entire period of the experiment. The antibody valence of Newcastle disease was increased indistinctively by dietary supplementation of domestic or imported Mn-Met imported at 14 d,28 d and 42 d of age in comparison with MnSO4 supplementation.Supplementation of imported Zn-Met to broilers diet appeared to have?P<0.05?a higher antibody valence at 42d in comparison with that of broilers in ZnSO4 group.Zn-Met and Mn-Met can be used as new feed additives to improve antioxidant enzymatic activities and immune response of broilers.
