In this study,the Qiongzhu Temple semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest and the Pu'er monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest were selected as the research object.Three samples were selected for each community and there were three communities in each forest.The surface pattern on the adult trees were observed and recorded.The bark samples were used to measure the structural characteristic traits for differential analysis,correlation analysis and principal component analysis.It was found that the surface traits of bark traits and the main manifestations of structural traits in two forest types.We compared the bark differences between semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest and monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest.And we explored the functional diversity of bark in two forest types.The results shown that:(1)Analysis of surface pattern traits of bark of two forest types shown that,the surface characteristics of the bark were affected by local hydrothermal conditions and the apparent types of bark were mainly cracking.Bark cracking in semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest was significantly more than the monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest,and the cracking was mainly caused by longitudinal cracks.In the semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest,50% of the individual bark had sloughing,and the block-like sloughing was the mainly sloughing pattern.In the monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest,34% of the individual bark had sloughing,and the sloughing pattern was the same as to the semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest.Brown was the main color of bark in subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest.(2)The structural characteristics of bark in two forest types were interdependent and interact with each other.There was no significant difference in bark saturated water capacity between semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest and monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest.The proportion of outer bark and bark-fissure index in the semihumid evergreen broad-leaved forest was significantly higher than that in the monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest.The relative bark thickness and inner bark in the semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest was significantly smaller than that of the monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest.(3)Between the two forest types,FRci,FEve,FDiv,FDis and FDQ were independent of each other,in which the functional entropy FDiv,FDis and FDQ were related to each other and had consistency.The functional diversity indices of the two forest types were analyzed separately.It was found that the functional diversity indices of FRci,FDiv,FDis and FDQ in the semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest of Qiongzhu Temple were significantly larger than those of Pu'er monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest.The functional uniformity index had no significant difference between the two forest types.The bark of each species in the two forest types had different surface patterns,and even the same characteristic traits might be affected by environmental changes and thus had different manifestations.In terms of structural characteristics,due to their own surface characteristics and different Hydrothermal conditions,there were significant differences in the structural characteristics of bark in two forest types.These different surface characteristics could provide certain basis for plant identification and classification.In the aspect of structural characteristics,there were significant differences in the characteristics of bark in the two forest types.The functional diversity of semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest in Qiongzhu Temple was more diverse than that in the Pu'er monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest,and the semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest had higher Ecosystem stability.
