| This study clarified the effect of selenium on tomatoes,mainly by exploring tomato growth,fruit yield and quality,selenium accumulation,and accumulation of mineral elements in fruits,which provided data basis for our practical production of selenium-rich tomatoes in Ningxia The results showed that as follows:The main purpose of the test was to explore when the concentration of selenium fertilizer is different it affected the plant growth and mineral element accumulation of tomato grown in substrate:using sodium selenate as the selenium source,set 10 selenium concentration levels,which were 0(CK),0.25,0.50,1.00,2.50,5.00,10.00,20.00,40.00,and 80.00 μmol·L-1.The effect of selenium application on tomato had no obvious regularity.When the concentration of was 0.50 μmol·L-1,the accumulation of dry matter was the most,followed by 0.25,1.00,5.00,and 20.00 μmol·L-1.CK was lower than the application of 0.25 and 5.00μmol·L-1 significantly on the concentration of Vc and soluble sugar;when the concentration of were 1.00 and 0.50 pmol·L-1,nitrate content was significantly higher than CK.As exogenous selenium concent was adding,the accumulation of selenium in fruits also increased,which had a certain effect on mineral elements.5.00 μmol·L-1 promoted better element absorption,compared with other treatments significantly.Among them,N and Ca elements increased by 10.75%and 295.20%,respectively.Comprehensive analysis,5.00 μmol·L-1 increased the dry matter content of the plant,promoted growth,improved quality,increased yield and promoted absorption of mineral elements.In the production of selenium-enriched tomatoes in substrate culture,5.00 μmol·L-1 selenium treatment was recommended to increase yield and quality.Study on the effects of adding different selenium fertilizers on the plant growth,yield and quality of hydroponic tomatoes during the whole growth period:Four selenium fertilizer treatments were used in the experiment,namely sodium selenium(T1),sodium selenite(T2),and selenomaethionine Acid(T3),agricultural selenium fertilizer(T4),selenium fertilizer was not added as a control(CK),selenium fertilizer was added from the end of the delayed seedling,and the concentration of selenium was 5 μmol·L-1 in each treatment.The results showed that T3 treatment could prolong plant growth time,followed by T4;T3 had the highest chlorophyll content,and the difference was not significant between T4 and CK,but the light energy utilization rate of T4 treatment was good among the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters,and the difference was not between other treatments,significantly.T4 treatment had the highest dry matter content,however the yield was not significantly different compared with T3.Each selenium treatment could improve fruit quality.When the state of selenium was different the selenium accumulation was also different,in different parts of the plant.And the accumulation amount was very different in the fruit.Selenium also caused the difference of the accumulation of mineral elements,T4 and T1 treatments can better promote the absorption of mineral elements in fruits.In summary,agricultural selenium fertilizer treatment can prolong plant growth time,increase light energy utilization rate,promote accumulation of dry matter content,and ultimately increase tomato yield;compared with other selenium treatments,it promoted absorption of mineral elements in fruits,which ameliorated the quality of fruit,in turn.The content of the fruit selenium was 11.32μg·100g-1(FW),and the content of each tomato selenium(210.50g)was 23.83μg,which can meet the human body’s requirements for selenium supplementation.The experiment was about the effects of adding different exogenous selenium on growth of tomato,yield and quality of hydroponic tomatoes,when selenium was applied after the white ripe period:Selenium was added from the late white ripening period,and the rest of the experiment was same as last hydroponic test.The results showed that T3 had the highest chlorophyll content,followed by T1 and T4,and the three were higher than CK significantly.For chlorophyll fluorescence parameters,the result was the same as the result of adding selenium during the full growth period,T4 was the best,and there was no significant difference between other treatments.Considering the dry matter content,T1,T2 and T4 were better and the yield was significantly higher than CK under T2,T3,and T4 treatments,but there were no significant difference between treatments.Based on comprehensive membership functions,when treatment was T3,the fruit quality is the best,followed by T4.Under T4 treatment,the fruit mineral accumulation was very rich,except for the difference between magnesium and CK was not significant,calcium and molybdenum were significantly higher than CK respectively,other elements were significantly higher than other treatments’,T2 was second(calcium and magnesium were significantly higher)For agricultural selenium treatment,nitrogen and molybdenum elements were not significantly different compared with agricultural selenium treatment,and the content of phosphorus,copper,manganese and zinc was second only to agricultural selenium treatment).In summary,the agricultural selenium fertilizer(T4)treatment had a significant effect on chlorophyll anabolic metabolism,high light energy utilization rate,good plant growth,good quality,and guaranteed economic benefits.Fruit mineral elements were rich in accumulation.It was said that the selenium content in a single fruit was 10.78μg,which was more suitable for daily life than other selenium treatments,so regarding the production of selenium-enriched tomatoes,it was more suitable to add agricultural selenium fertilizer from the white ripening period. |
