The rapid development of traditional Chinese medicine industry makes the discharge scale of traditional Chinese medicine residue increase.As a valuable renewable resource,traditional Chinese medicine residue still has a vacancy in recycling and reuse at the present stage.A large number of studies show that the traditional Chinese medicine residue contains a large number of nutrient elements,such as crude fiber,crude fat and some trace elements.These ingredients have great development value in breeding,planting,environment and energy.However,the residue of traditional Chinese medicine has the characteristics of high humidity,complex components,and easy to decay.At present,the common treatment method is stacking and burning,which is very easy to cause environmental pollution.There are also illegal elements will be dried into the market again.At present,the residue of traditional Chinese medicine is not well treated or reused.As a renewable resource that can be recycled,the residue of traditional Chinese medicine can be effectively utilized to reduce the adverse impact of the waste on the environment,make greater use of the nutrients in it,and prolong the use cycle of traditional Chinese medicine,which conforms to the concept of sustainable development.In this paper,the method of literature review was used to summarize the reuse methods of traditional Chinese medicine residue.Taking the community hospital as the starting point,the field survey was conducted on the TCM services in the community hospital of north China university of technology.Based on the survey,the recycling method of compost was adopted.The case analysis method is adopted to enumerate the cases of recycling of renewable resources,and different methods of recycling and utilization of renewable resources are summarized based on the classification of recycling methods,so as to guide the recycling and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine residues.The recycling of traditional Chinese medicine residues can be borrowed from the recycling methods of natural resources such as coffee grounds and wheat.The feasibility of reuse of compost was verified by experimental method,and relevant compost products were selected to explore users' use pain points and guide the design practice.At the same time,under the guidance of the sustainable development strategy of "process intervention",the author analyzed and summarized the design methods of the source intervention,process control and end governance of the product life cycle,combined with the concept of sustainable design,and guided the practice department.The final composting products are designed from the aspects of material,structure,function and modeling to better meet the user's needs and simplify the use process.Recycling of renewable resources and product design complement each other,and sustainable design is taken as a foothold to reduce resource consumption from the perspective of design in terms of recycling and reuse of recyclable resources.The existing composting products are mainly used for kitchen waste and household waste.At present,there is no product design which specifically focuses on the traditional Chinese medicine residue as the research object of composting,which makes this study ingenious.Through the design practice,we can have a deeper understanding of the recycling of renewable resources and add new research schemes to the field of product design for the concept of sustainable design.
