UAV remote sensing technology provides a new technical method for soil and water conservation monitoring, but the research is preliminary at present. In this study, the application of UAV in the monitoring of soil and water conservation was explored by taking "The Yellow River-to-Baiyangdian Water Transfer Project," for example.Through the UAV data model, the image of the aerial spoil ground is processed, and the DOM and DSM images can be obtained, based on which the area and quantity of spoil ground can be calculated;based on the DOM image,object-oriented classification can be obtained, and the area of covering, bare surface, vegetation and other categories in each waste dump were automatically calculated;the slope length, slope width, and the slope width of spoil ground can be extracted by DOM image and DSM image.Based on The calculation guidelines of soil loss of production and construction projects, the amount of soil erosion can be calculated. The feasibility of its application in production practice was explored by comparing it to the measured value. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The six UAV remote sensing data processing models constructed in this study can meet the production requirements, and the pix-con model has the highest accuracy; If there are ponds and other waters in the project area, the DOM and DSM image accuracy obtained by Photo Scan is the highest,if there is no water area, the image accuracy obtained by pix4 d is the highest;(2)DOM image classification can get the area of different land classes quickly and accurately.Based on e Cognition, three common spoil areas were classified by the object-oriented method.Kappa coefficients were 0.86,0.82 and 0.71 respectively, which can be applied in production practice;(3)Based on the UAV remote sensing technology and according to the Guidelines for the Estimation of Soil Loss in Production and Construction Projects, the soil loss can be obtained conveniently and quickly, which is feasible and operable to monitor soil and water conservation;(5)The amount of soil loss simulated based on the monthly rainfall erosivity Rm is far greater than the measured value. The simulated soil loss based on Rr or Rc was close to the measured value.
