Litchi is one of the major tropical fruit tree in southern China.In recent years,however,the frequent occurrence of its dominant pest,litchi fruit&shoot borer(Conopomorpha sinensis Bradley),damage it seriously in Haikou city,Hainan province,China.In this study,in order to forecast its emergence and improve control methods,the population dynamics of this pest of the region was investigated in 2018 to 2019,both in lab and field.Further,the catching light of this borer was compared using different attracting color light too.The preliminary results are listed below.1)The growth and development of litchi fruit&shoot borer are closely related to climate and plant phenology.The population size of litchi fruit&shoot borer in 2018 and 2019 are similar,with two peaks between fruit maturity and the end of autumn shoots;2)By checking the eclosion day by day,and the date of peak eclosion of litchi fruit&shoot borer was predicted to be April 21-april 22,the date of peak eclosion indoor was observed April 22,and the actual peak eclosion in the field was April 21,which was consistent with the predicted peak eclosion;3)There was a significant positive correlation between the rate of fruit boring and the number of adults.The regression equation was:y=13.442x-1.484,R~2=0.9835,the economic injury level(EIL)was 2.27%/tree,and the control index was 0.28 pairs/tree.4)Among the red,yellow,blue,green,purple lights,the best trapping effect of green light for adults was observed,followed by blue light,and then purple light,in the night between20:00-21:00 the effect of trapping was best.In conclusion,the key control period of litchi fruit&shoot borer is the fruiting period and the end of autumn shoots.The application of checking the eclosion rate day by day method can accurately predict the peak eclosion period of adult and combine with the control index,so as to make appropriate control decisions,timely control,improve the control effect,save cost and increase output.Light prevention can be used as a green and pollution-free prevention method for further research.
