Research On The Cultivation Techniques Of Cyclamen Persicum

Cyclamen persicum L.belongs to Cyclamen genus,Primulaceae family.Because of its special ornamental and horticultural characteristics,such as unique flower-shape,variegated colors,long-lasting flower-periods,suitable for potting,and the professional potting system for some different kinds of Cyclamen cultivar in modern greenhouse have been setting up for a long periods in Europe,U.S.A and Japan.The cultivation history of Cyclamen in China is so short that the quantity of cultivars with high production and excellent quality is very less.And the researches of production techniques in modem facility greenhouse were only studied preliminarily.All the shortcomings,such as the low rate of superior product,high-production costs,the defects of production techniques,would become more and more outstanding in the process of large scale production.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Different substrates had significant effects on the number of leaves and height of seedlings ‘Violet foncé'(P<0.05).Seedling height in substrate 4(peat: sheep dung =3:1)and substrate 6(peat: sheep dung =1:1)were better than that in other substrates.It indicated that substrate 6 was beneficial to Cyclamen's growth and development.(2)Nutrient solution of different concentrations had significant effects on germination rate,seedling height and leaf size of Cyclamen of different cultivar(P<0.05).The germination rate was the highest with the nutrient concentration of 400 times;the leaf length was the longest when the nutrient concentration was 800 times;the height of Cyclamen seedling was the highest with the nutrient concentration of 1000 times.(3)Different temperatures had significant effects on seedling height and leaf number of different var.Cyclamen(P<0.05).The temperature of 20-30? was beneficial to the growth of seedling height;the suitable temperature for the leaves number growth of‘Rose clairà ceil rouge' ‘Violet vif' ‘écarlate vif' ‘Violet foncé' ‘Rouge rebelle' Cyclamen was respectively20-30?,20-30?,25-30 ?,20? or 30? and 25?.However,the temperature of 40?was not good for Cyclamen's growth.(4)Different light intensity had significant effects on seedling height and leaf number of different cultivar Cyclamen(P<0.05).Shading was beneficial to Cyclamen's growth.When shading rate is 95%,seedling height is the highest;when shading rate is 65%,seedling leaf number is the most.
