In this experience,ZD 958 and LY 99,two maize cultivars with different plant types, were used as test materials. The trial was conducted in a randomized block design.Three row spacing treatments?50cm,60 cm and 70cm?were set in the experiment. The experiment was carried out in three ecological areas of Heishan?Western Liaoning?Haicheng?Southern Liaoning?and Tieling?Northern Liaoning?.Under the condition of increasing planting density,by measuring the population morphological index, photosynthetic characteristics, canopy structure and yield of maize, the effects of different planting row spacing on yield and population structure of maize were studied,to provide scientific basis for exploring optimal row spacing allocation and creating high yield population structure of maize. The main conclusions of this study were as follows:1.Different row spacing had a significant impact on yield of maize. In different ecological regions,ZD 958 and LY 99 had higher yields under the row spacing of 50 cm;in the late growth period, the dry matter weight of row spacing of 50 cm was significantly higher than other row spacing.Therefore,50 cm was the appropriate row spacing, which was conducive to the establishment of high-yield population of maize in different ecological regions.2.In the late growth stage, the 50 cm row spacing treatment in each ecological area maintained a higher leaf area index and a larger light interception area. The leaf-stem angle increased with the increase of row spacing, and the leaf orientation value decreased. The 50 cm row spacing was more reasonable than the 60 cm and 70 cm row spacing treatments. The middle and lower leaves were evenly distributed, which was beneficial to the improvement of photosynthetic capacity and yield of maize population.3.The chlorophyll content and photosynthetic index of the ear leaf were higher at the row spacing of 50 cm in each ecological region, especially in the filling stage, the chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate and inter-cellular CO2 concentration were significantly higher than other treatments, which was conducive for maize to improving photosynthetic capacity of the population and promoting yield formation.4.In the different ecological regions, the row spacing of 50 cm significantly improved the light transmittance of each layer of the maize population, which was beneficial to thephotosynthesis of the leaves of each layer of the population. In different row spacing treatments, the change trend of CO2 content in the field was basically consistent with the change trend of leaf area index. When the leaf area index was larger, the CO2 content in the maize field was also higher. There was no significant difference in field temperature among the treatments, and the relative humidity decreased with the increase of row spacing.5.In different ecological regions, precipitation was the main factors affecting the yield and population indicators of maize. The row spacing of 50 cm,maize population structure was better, had better adaptability to meteorological factors in different ecological regions, and could achieve higher yields.
