Objective:Select the patients in the department of orthopedics as the subjects to evaluate the gastric emptying time of different carbohydrate drinks with different oral doses by abdominal ultrasonography was used to measure and calculate the gastric antrum area and gastric volume.Methods:From October 2017 to December,48 cases in the department of orthopedics in our hospital,aged 18-70,male and female were 1:1,BMI18-35Kg/m2,ASAI-II.Exclusion criteria:diabetes,pregnancy,digestive system diseases,chronic kidney disease,hypothyroidism,the history of gastrointestinal surgery,receiving antiemetic drugs before operation,gastrointestinal motility drugs,gastrointestinal decompression or stomach jejunum nutrition before operation,refusing or unable to cooperate with the researchers.The patients were divided into 2 groups by random number method.A group of patients drank 200ml carbohydrate drinks at 7 a.m on the day of operation,and another group of patients drank 400ml carbohydrate drinks,and the ultrasound images of the gastric antrum were obtained under the right lateral position.Each patient was recorded before drinking carbohydrates(Tm),immediately after drinking(TO),30min after drinking(T1),60min(T2),90min(T3),120min(T4),150min(T5),180min(T6),anterior and posterior diameter AP(cm)and the main diameter CC(cm)(AP is the longest diameter of the gastric sinus image,CC is a vertical line on the AP,basis and the maximum value.The diameters were taken from one side to the opposite serous layer),and the cross-sectional area of the gastric antrum CSA(cm2)and the gastric volume GV(ml)were calculated by the formula.Results:The average gastric emptying time of group 200ml was 85± 11.4min(20 patients observed gastric emptying at 90min point of time,4 patients observed gastric emptying at 60min time point),and the average gastric emptying time in 400ml group was 143.8±12.4min(19 patients observed gastric emptying at 150min point of time,5 patients were in 120min.The gastric emptying time in group 400ml was significantly longer than that in group 200ml(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Abdominal ultrasound can clearly observe the dynamic state of gastric emptying after taking drinks.(2)The patients oral 200ml or 400ml carbohydrate drinks can be emptied within 2.5 hours on the day of operation.The gastric emptying time of 200ml is approximately 90min,and the gastric emptying time of 400ml is approximately 150min,but according to the current standard of prohibition of 2h before operation,the capacity of the beverage should be properly controlled,giving 400ml may cause the risk of food residue in the stomach.(3)The emptying of liquids is not at a constant rate,but is a curve,first fast after the slow,after drinking 30min gastric emptying is fastest,the last 30min in the stomach emptying is slowest;the same liquid,the amount of more gastric emptying time is longer,but the average gastric emptying rate is faster,multiplied capacity increase does not increase relationship with emptying time into corresponding multiples.
