Objective: To investigate the effects of edaravone on the content of S100 beta protein(S100 Calcium Binding Protein beta,S100?)and neuron specific enolase(Neuron-Specific Enolase,NSE)in the peripheral blood of patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage, and the improvement of brain function after emergency operation, and the analysis the mechanism of edaravone in the patients who caught the hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage after emergency operation. Methods: From August 2015 to August 2017,patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage in basal ganglia with the indication of emergency operation were selected from the Department of Neurosurgery,Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College. The patients were randomly divided into two groups,of which 26 patients were admitted to the hospital after emergency operation and were treated with routine dehydration, hemostasis, dehydration, etc.,and did not use edaravone as a routine treatment group, and 29 patients used edaravone beyond the basis of the routine treatment group after emergency operation as the experimental group. The patients in the experimental group and the routine treatment group were taken 5ml of the peripheral blood at first, sixth and 11 day after they were admitted to the hospital, and the centrifugal supernatant of the blood storaged under the environment of-80?.The content of S100? and NSE in the serum of two groups was measured by ELISA reagent box.and eatch patients' GCS score of first, sixth and 11 d after admission was evaluated. The independent samples t test and correlation analysis were used in each group of data using SPSS24.0 software, and P < 0.05 was statistically significant. Results: The content of S100? in the peripheral blood of the edaravone group was 25.88 + 7.29 pg/ml after admission, and 24.15 + 5.92 pg/ml in the normal control group, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. The content of S100? in the peripheral blood of the control group was significantly higher than that of the edaravone group at sixth and 11 d after admission, and the difference was statistically significant. The contents of NSE in the edaravone group and the control group were 38.07 + 11.89 ng/ml and 40.99 + 11.53 ng/ml,respectively,with no statistical difference. The content of NSE in the peripheral blood of the control group was significantly higher than that of the edaravone group at sixth and 11 d after admission, and the difference was statistically significant. There was no statistical difference in the GCS score between the two groups at the admission of first, sixth and 11 d.Conclusion: Edaravone can reduce the level of serum S100?and NSE in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage,so as to reduce brain damage and protect nerve cells. But it has no obvious effect on neurological function in short term.Edaravone was more effective in patients under 50 years of age. There was no significant relationship between the time of onset and the effect of edaravone.
