ObjectivesTo analyze the condition of pain, negative emotional, sleep and the correlation between the three factors of patients with mild and moderate acute pancreatitis treated with non operative treatment, and provide the basis for the intervention measures. To investigate the effect of inhaled aromatherapy on pain, sleep, negative emotional, and biochemical indicators in patients with mild to moderate acute pancreatitis treated with non operative treatment.Methods(1)A total of 132 patients with mild-to-moderate acute pancreatitis who underwent non operative treatment were asked to finish the general data questionnaire,Numerical Rating scale(NRS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale(PSQI),Hospital Anxiety and Depression scale(HAD).The status of pain, sleep and non operative of patients with mild-to-moderate acute pancreatitis were searched and analyzed to provide the basis for the intervention measures.(2)Non-surgical patients with mild to moderate acute pancreatitis who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria was selected as the research objects in the Department of hepatobiliary surgery of a three grade general hospital from September 2017 to February 2018.According to the order of admission, the patients were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group by random digital table method, with 34 cases in the control group and 33 in the experimental group. The general data, disease data, scores of NRS,PSQI and HAD,serum amylase and serum lipase levels were compared between the two groups of patients with acute pancreatitis before the intervention. The control group received conventional non-surgical treatment of acute pancreatitis nursing measures, and the experimental group used lavender essential oil for a week of inhalation aromatherapy on the basis of conventional nursing measures. The patients' pain, sleep and negative emotional scores were measured at the first, third, fifth, and seventh days of the intervention, and the serum amylase and lipase levels in the two groups were compared on the seventh day.All data were statistically analyzed with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS)22.0.The measurement data in the normal distribution were statistically described by means of mean±standard deviation, and the counting data were described by the composition ratio and the rate(%).The independent samples t test, paired samples test, variance analysis, chi square test,Fisher's method,Mann-Whitney U and repeated measurement analysis of variance were used for statistical inference.P<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.Results(1)Abdominal pain was the initial symptom of non surgical treatment of patients with mild to moderate acute pancreatitis, and the pain scores on the first day,the third day,the fifth day and the seventh day were(7.71± 1.76),(1.42 ± 0.59),(1.01 ± 0.64)and(0.40 ± 0.52)respectively;the PSQI scores were(10.31 ± 2.15),(9.62 ± 2.32),(8.93 ± 2.38),(8.23 ± 2.28)points;the anxiety scores were(12.92 ± 2.63),(11.48 ± 2.50),(10.45 ± 2.51),(9.51 ± 2.57);depression scores were(10.14 ± 2.96),(9.50 ± 2.89)and(7.90 ± 2.98),(6.64 ± 2.97);the total scores were(23.54 ± 5.28),(21.50 ± 5.03),(18.67 ± 5.20),(16.64 ± 5.22).(2)There was a positive correlation between pain, sleep, anxiety and depression on the first day of admission in patients with mild to moderate acute pancreatitis(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between anxiety and depression and sleep in third, fifth, seventh days after hospitalization(P<0.001).(3)Before intervention, there was no significant difference in general information, disease information, scores of NRS,PSQI and HAD,and levels of serum amylase and lipase between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).Repeated measures ANOVA analysis showed that the main intervention and time effect on NRS score in the experimental group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was no interaction between intervention factors and time factors(P>0.05);the main effect on PSQI score of intervention in the experimental group and the control group was not statistically significant(P>0.05),the main effect of time was statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was no interaction between intervention factors and time factors(P>0.05);the main effect of intervention and time on anxiety scores in the experimental group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was an interaction between intervention factors and time factors(P<0.05);the main effect of intervention and time on depression scores in the experimental group and the control group were statistically significant(P<0.05),and there was an interaction between intervention factors and time factors(P<0.05).(4)Before the intervention and on the seventh day of intervention, there was no significant difference in serum amylase and serum lipase between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionsInhalation aromatherapy could relieve the pain of hospitalized patients with mild and moderate acute pancreatitis receiving nonsurgical treatment, and help them improved their sleep quality and relieved negative emotions.
