BackgroundBreast cancer is the most common women malignancy in worldwide, which seriously threatens women’s physical and mental health.Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women, especially in Chinese women aged45-55.With the deepening of people’s understanding of the biological characteristics of breast cancer, the treatment of breast cancer has progressed from comprehensive treatment to the multi-disciplinary consultation era of comprehensive treatment. The progress of treatment means that the mortality rate of breast cancer patients with higher incidence rate gradually reduce.Since Halsted founded the radical mastectomy for breast cancer in1894,it has been used as a classic surgical technique for breast cancer surgery. With the progress and development of breast cancer treatment, the concept of surgical treatment has gradually shifted from "the maximum tolerable treatment" to "the most effective treatment",and the individualized treatment mode has also become a trend of surgical treatment.Traditional modified radical mastectomy caused by significant postoperative complications and disfiguring effects have been unable to meet the breast cancer patients, especially the need of physical beauty, quality of life and mental health in patients with early breast cancer.Breast reconstructive surgery offers early breast cancer patients the opportunity to preserve the basic appearance of the breast, enhance the quality of life, and improve the confidence and ability to fight cancer.Ninety-five percent of early-stage breast cancer patients have the opportunity of cure or long-term survival. Therefore,it is one of the purposes of breast surgery to preserve the beauty of women’s breasts and improve their quality of life. Objective:Comparative analysis of clinical efficacy of nipple-areola sparing mastectomy combined with stage I prosthesis implantation and modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer, explore the clinical application value of nipple-areola sparing mastectomy combined with stage I prosthesis implantation. Methods:Using retrospective research methods,we collected 60 patients were diagnosed of early primary breast carcinoma who underwent nipple-areola sparing mastectomy combined with stage I prosthesis implantation in our department from December 2009 to December 2015,80 patients who underwent conventional radical mastectomy for breast cancer were selected as the control group, compared and observed the postoperative effects of two groups of patients. Results:There was no statistical difference in the time of extubation, incision recovery and postoperative complications between the two groups(all p>0.05).The satisfaction rate of the observation group(93.33% vs.43.75%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(p <0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence of adverse events(5.00%vs.6.25%),local recurrence(3.33% vs.3.75%)and distant metastasis(0.00% vs.1.25%)in both groups(all p> 0.05).Conclusion:Nipple-areola sparing mastectomy(NSM)combined with stage I prosthesis implantation for the treatment of early breast cancer is safe, feasible and good cosmetic results, high patient satisfaction, worthy ofclinical promotion.
