Anatomical Changes Of Superior Mesenteric Artery Observed By 256 Slice CT Angiography

Objective:The imaging anatomy and variation of the superior mesenteric artery(SMA)and its main branches were observed by 256 rows of spiral CT angiography(256-MSCTA),to sum up the types of common variations,and to provide the basis for the treatment of blood vessels in the laparoscopic operation.Methods:Retrospective analysis of 771 cases of hospitalized patients with abdominal aortic CTA or thoracic abdominal aortic CTA scan results in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 1,2015 to December 2017 a total of 31,3D reconstruction using PHILPS post processing technology,separate observation records:middle colic artery(MCA),right coronary artery(RCA)and colon artery(ICA)anatomical variation,number of intestinal artery,SMA emits the blood supply artery of the liver,the angle between the superior mesenteric artery(SMA)and the abdominal aorta(AA)was measured at the same time.Results:In 771 patients,all of them have ileocolic artery,the incidence of the colonic artery was 100%;625 cases,and the incidence of middle colon artery was 81.1%.;220 cases had middle colon artery,and the incidence of right colon artery was 28.5%;the average number of intestinal artery was 5.9 ± 1.6,the median number is 6.31 cases of hepatic artery supplied by superior mesenteric artery,accounting for 4%of the total,there were 16 cases of total hepatic artery,10 cases of SMA from right hepatic artery,5 cases of SMA from accessory right hepatic artery.660 cases were measured the angle between the superior mesenteric artery and abdominal aorta,the average angle is 66.10 ±24.4°.and the median angle is 66.5 degrees.Conclusion:The multislice CT angiography of the abdomen can fully demonstrate the variation of the superior mesenteric artery and its main branches.There are many variations of the superior mesenteric artery and its branches,substantial differences between individuals,MSCTA examination before operation can determine the walking and variation of the main branches,it can help the surgeon to judge the variant blood vessels accurately in the laparoscopic operation,especially in the right colon cancer radical operation,truly accurate operation.
