Objective This research through the gathering crowd physical activity,Metabolic syndrome(Metabolic syndrome or MS)and the related factors of MS,explore the relationship between physical activity and MS,and to explore the relationship between gender differences.Method The cluster sampling method was adopted to select representative urban community and rural natural village in Beijing and nanjing area from 2012 to 2013.A total of 7,876 residents aged 40 to 60 completed questionnaires, anthropometric measurements and laboratory tests.MS adopts the international diabetes association diagnostic criteria, and the physical activity survey adopts the international physical activity questionnaire.According to the energy metabolism level of the unit time,it is divided into three groups: low, medium and high. The related risk factors of MS were collected, and multivariate logistic regression was used to adjust the model of different influencing factors, and the relationship between physical activity and MS was examined. The gender difference between physical activity and MS relationship was analyzed. Results A total of 7462 subjects entered the analysis, with an age of 50.66 ±5.76 years, and 2921 males, accounting for 39.15%.Low,medium and high physical activity were 783(10.5%),3276(43.9%)and 3403(45.6%)respectively.A total of 2,342 patients with MS had a prevalence of 31.39%.Male and female MS patients were 1085(37.14%)and 1257(33.20%),respectively.The trend test showed that, regardless of population, male and female, the prevalence of MS decreased with the increase of physical activity level(all P?0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression showed that, compared with low PA,high PA reduced MS risk,OR and 95%CI was 0.79(0.67,0.92).In men and women, the risk was 0.85(0.77,0.94)and 0.93(0.86,1,03)respectively.Compared with the low PA,the relationship between PA and MS risk was not found in the overall, male and female, and the OR and 95%CI were 0.88(0.73,1.05),0.88(0.74,1.03)and 0.91(0.85,1.13)respectively.Conclusion Compared with low physical activity, high physical activity level can reduce the risk of MS in the population, but this effect is mainly manifested in men.Physical activity did not find the risk of MS.
