Glucagon like peptide-1(GLP-1)promotes insulin biosynthesis and secretion,stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of beta cells,inhibits beta cell apoptosis,glucagon secretion,appetite and food intake and delays gastric emptying.At present,GLP-1 receptor(GLP-1R)is found in various tissues and organs.Glucagon like peptide-1 receptor agonist(GLP-1RA)has the functions of hypoglycemic,appetite suppression,delayed gastric emptying,weight loss and cardiovascular metabolism.GLP-1R is found in bone tissue,and the effect of GLP-1RA on bone metabolism has attracted the attention of the medical community.Due to the increased inflammatory cytokines releasing,oxidative stress,cytokines and related signaling pathways by diabetic mellitus(DM),the biochemical characteristics and mechanics of bone are changed,bone formation is impaired,bone turnover balance is destroyed,and diabetic osteoporosis(DO)is easy to occur.Some of the current therapeutic drugs for DM affect bone metabolism.This review introduces the discovery,development and physiological functions of GLP-1,and analyzes the effects of GLP-1 and GLP-1RA Liraglutide on bone metabolism in detail,so as to provide new ideas for improving the understanding,diagnosis and treatment of diabetic bone metabolism. |
