| ObjectiveBased on the non target gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(NTGC-MS)platform,we studied the changes of the whole metabolite before and after exenatide treatment with overweight polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)patients,to further understand the effect and the possible mechanism of the treatment of PCOS with exenatide.MethodsWe observed the changes of clinical biochemical characteristics before and after exenatide treatment. The metabolites changes were detected by NTGC-MS platform.ResultsOverweight PCOS patients develop abnormality of glucose, lipid and amino acid metabolism. There were 57 differential metabolites between healthy and PCOS group. There were 28 differential metabolites between before and after exenatide treatment group.Significantly altered metabolism pathway in PCOS including alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and citric acid cycle.Exenatide mainly improve the metabolic pathway involved in biosynthesis and degradation of branched chain amino acids.ConclusionExenatide improves insulin sensitivity, reduces body weight and improves glycolipid metabolism in PCOS.Exenatide may be major improved the degradation metabolism of the branched-chain amino acids and aromatic amino acids.NTGC-MS method is helpful for studying the differential metabolites and evaluating the effect of drug intervention in PCOS. |
