Abstract/Summary:
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine)constitution type classification of children with tic disorder in Chengdu and the possible factors that relate to its occurrence. To explore the classification of TCM constitution type of tic patients, and, the relationship of TCM constitution types with tic disorder, and also, the related conditions for tic to occur. In addition,to provide the theoretical basis for the study of the TCM body constitution type of children’s tic disorder and the research on related factors of tic disorder. Thus,to provide a reference for the prevention and treatment of tic disorder.Method: Using the method of epidemiological survey, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria in December 2015 ~ December 2016,to Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine pediatric outpatients were retrospectively analyzed.Preparing the questionnaire survey form, adopting the on-the-spot method for the questionnaire survey, and to survey the group of the above mentioned, including the general situation, tongue, etc.,and the TCM constitution type were also analyzes. With reference to the research done by Professor Su Shurong, the TCM constitution of children were divided into two categories, namely equilibrium and uneven type. The uneven type was further divided into four subtypes namely: lung-spleen type Ⅰ(more yang less yin),lung-spleen type Ⅱ(more yin less yang);spleen-kidney type I(more yang less yin),spleen-kidney type II(more yin less yang). After the completion of data collection, the data was consolidated using an Excel database.Spss21.0 was used for statistical analysis.Result:A total of 121 cases were included in this study, consisting of 103 cases of male patients and 18 cases of female patients, and the male and female ratio was 5.72: 1.As for the TCM constitution, the lung and spleen body constitution was the most prevalent,of which lung-spleen type I consisted a total of 69 cases, accounting for 56.2% of the total, and the lung-spleen type Ⅱ was 19.8%.This indicated that the lung and spleen body constitution type are closely associated with tic’s occurrence.Analysis of the relationship between various types of TCM constitution types and tic occurrence, suggested that the occurrence of tic disorder lowly correlated with homogeneous body type and spleen and kidney type Ⅱ,while the correlation between lung and spleen type and tic occurrence is relatively higher. The occurrence of tic disorder and post-natal care are closely related too.Hence the identification of body constitution provides the evidential basis on prevention and treatment of children with tic disorder.Other factors associated with the onset of tic disease are the way of giving birth, feeding patterns in infancy, improper care during pregnancy, improper consumption of food and beverage, family discipline that were too strict or too lenient. Conclusion: The lung and spleen type constitution account for most of the cases in children with tic disorder, and the lung and spleen type Ⅰ(”yang” more,"yin" less type)constitution predominates over the lung and spleen type II constitution. No spleen and kidney type II constitution were observed in children with tic disorder this study.Improper acquired care and inappropriate nursing methods might be a contributing factor towards the cause of child tic disorder.
