Objective:To study and investigate the effect of epidural labor analgesia on humoral immunity in newborns. Methods:Select 60 primiparous women with ASA I and full-term Singleton pregnancy as study subjects in Jinzhong Maternal and Child Health Hospital, from August 2017 to November 2017.These pregnant women were divided into epidural analgesia group(group E)and natural childbirth group(group N)according to the choice of delivery methods,30 cases in each group. In group E,epidural analgesia was performed with 0.1%ropivacaine + 0.5ug/ml sufentanil, and then umbilical cord blood 3ml was collected immediately after neonatal delivery.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the level of immunoglobulin(IgA,IgG,IgM),C-reactive protein, complement C3,C4 and other immune factors in neonatal umbilical cord blood of both groups. And the Visual Analogue Scale/Score(VAS),Bromage score, labor duration, and neonatal Apgar scores during maternal delivery were compared between the two groups.SPSS22.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results:Compared with group N,the VAS scores in group E was significantly lower than that in group N(P<0.05).There was no lower limb motor nerve block in both groups. There was no significant difference in the levels of immunoglobulin(IgA,IgG,IgM),C-reactive protein, complement C3,and complement C4.The same two groups of labor and neonatal Apgar score were also not statistically significant. Conclusion:Epidural analgesia significantly reduces pain during childbirth and improves the comfort and satisfaction of delivery. It also has no significant effect on the birth process, neonatal Apgar score and humoral immunity of neonates.
