Objective:To investigate the characteristics of cubital tunnel syndrome in our hospital and analyze its changing trend. Methods:Retrospectively analyzed the dates of patients who are cubital tunnel syndrome in our hospital from June 2009 to May 2017.The date from June 2009 to May 2013 were classified as group A and those form June 2013 to May 2017 as group B.Comparative analysis of sex, age, occupation and etiology of cubital tunnel syndrome cases in two groups.Results:519 cases of cubital tunnel syndrome treated in our hospital during 8 years, among these,390 were males and 129 were females, with a ratio of 3.02: 1,mean age of onset(51.43 ±14.313)years.Grouping compares:1.The number of cases in group B(319 cases)was more than those in group A(200 cases);2.The mean age of onset was(49.64±15.056)in group A and(52.57 ±13.722)years in group B,The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);3.Sex ratio of two groups(A/B)were 2.64: 1 and 3.31:1,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05);4.Occupational factor:The proportion of light manual workers in two group(A/B)was 17.5% and27.3%.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);5.Etiological composition:the proportion of cubital tunnel syndrome caused by trauma was 32.5% and 16.9% in two group(A/B),while that caused by occupying factor were 8.5% and 23.2%,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:This study suggests the epidemiological characteristics and trends of cubital tunnel syndrome in our hospital in the last eight years:1.Cubital tunnel syndrome is more common in men,The first four years compared with the last four years, the incidence of cubital tunnel syndrome increased, the average onset age of the patients was delayed;2.ulnar nerve is more easily damaged in heavy labor, but the proportion of light manual workers increased in the patients with the disease in recent years;3.The proportion of traumatic factors in the etiology of cubital tunnel syndrome decreased, while the proportion of occupying factors increased.
