Objective:To research the relationship between low triiodothyronine syndrome and severe acute pancreatitis and its prognosis by compared the prognosis of patient with severe acute pancreatitis, and provides advice and basis for clinical work. Methods:A total of 32 patients selected from June 2016 to Decemeber 2017 in the Department of General Surgery and Critical Care Medicine of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University and diagnosed as severe acute pancreatitis.According to the difference of two groups of thyroid hormones levels, they were divided into low T3group(14 cases)and normal T3 group(18 cases).Compared the difference of two groups in death, hospitalization days, hospitalization costs, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, multiple organ, failure, pancreatic encephalopathy, pancreaticcyst, pancreatic necrosis, and compared the changes of thyroid hormones levels in different periods in the low T3 grooup.Results:1.The age, sex, etiology, mortality rate, pancreaticcyst, and pancreatic necrosis of both groups were not statistically significant(p>0.05).2.The hospitalization days, hospitalization costs and the occurrence rate of nflammatory response syndrome, multiple organ failure, sepsis, pancreatic encephalopathy were higher than the normal T3 group, and the differences werestatistically significant(p<0.05).3.Compared with the acute period, the FT3 levels in stable period and discharge period gradully rises as the condition improves in the low T3 group, and the differences were statistically significant(p < 0.05),the differences of FT4 and TSH were not statistically significant(p>0.05).Conclusion:Low T3 syndrome can be used as a realiable indicator to judge the severity of severe acute pancreatitis and evaluate its prognosis, monitoring thyroid hormone levels in SAP patients is helpful for early assessment of the condition and more active and effective, witch is worthy of being quoted in clinical preatice.
