Esophageal cancer is one of the more common harm human health of the digestive tract cancer within the scope in the world, its pathological histology in most western countries is given priority to with glandular cell carcinoma of the esophagus, and our country is given priority to with squamous cell carcinoma, and its characteristics have obvious regional distribution and family aggregation,it suggest that environmental factors and genetic factors has an important role in the occurrence of the disease development.Esophageal cancer has a high morbidity and mortality in China, because most of its early symptoms is not significant,it has not yet found the specificity, sensitivity of early diagnostic index of early diagnosis in the present and screening in the crowd of ordinary people is limited, found that most of the period, when the disease often has developed rapidly after the discovery, the prognosis is poor, mortality is extremely high,5-year survival rate is only 10%,which cause serious damage to the lives and health of people around the world. At present most of the research of formation of the esophageal cancer is more interaction, mutual influence among factors,a variety of genetic variations, multiple stages of interactive development extremely complex biological evolution process, the specific pathogenesis is still not clarified. Most patients have lost the opportunity to operation, radiotherapy become the main way at this time, however,it restricted by many factors, radiation effect is limited, the 5-year survival rate is still not optimistic. It has found a variety of tumor markers associated with esophageal cancer, but still have not found in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of a stable and has a guiding role related markers used in the early diagnosis and prognosis of esophageal cancer.EGFR(epidermal growth factor receptor,or HER1 Erb B-1)is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family, belonging to the tyrosine protein kinase receptor is encoded by proto-oncogene C-Er B 1 transmembrane glycoprotein,EGFR is closelyrelated to the occurrence of many common tumor development, along with EGFR in non-small cell lung cancer, head and neck cancer, colorectal cancer research and the corresponding tyrosine protein kinase inhibitor and application of monoclonal antibodies,EGFR in esophageal cancer has become a hot spot in the study,a number of studies at home and abroad generally showed EGFR excessive expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma of the organization, and expressed in normal mucosa tissues around the middle and lower or no expression, excessive expression of EGFR often indicates a poor clinical outcomes,so for esophageal excessive expression of EGFR and the relationship between radiation therapy and targeted therapy of gradually.
