| Research purposes: This study by analyzing the Pittsburgh sleep quality index and various scores of each symptom of insomnia and the correlation between auricular acupressure with different frequency and the improvement of insomnia symptoms explores the effect of different stimulus volume of auricular point for treating insomnia.Methods: 60 patients with insomnia are equally divided into 3 groups,one without ear acupoint press,one with press for 3 times,and the other with press for 6 times.Three weeks is taken as one cycle of treatment,within which 4-5 days for pressing one ear,and then another 4-5 days for the other ear.Then collect the case data and then analyze and compare the total scores of PSQI and the score of each symptom among and within each group.Results:1.Impact on effective rate for curing insomniaFor the group without pressing,the effective rate sees no obvious improvement(P>0.05),yet for the group with 6 times of pressing and the group with 3 times of pressing,the rate is statistically different compared with that of the first group(P<0.05).Likewise,the rate for the group with 6 times of pressing varies statistically from the the group with 3 times of pressing(P<0.05).2.Impact on each symptom as well as the major symptom of insomnia(1)In terms of sleep quality,time for getting asleep,sleeping duration,sleeping efficiency and obstacles to sleep,the scores record no statistical difference for the group without pressing.(P>0.05).Yet compared with the first group,the scores for the group with 3 times of pressing and the group with 6 times of pressing are statistically varied(P<0.01).Again,compared with the group with 3 times of pressing,the scores for the group with 6 times of pressing are still statistically different(P<0.05).(2)In terms of the major symptom including dreaminess,festless sleep and light sleep,the scores record no statistical difference for the group without pressing.(P>0.05)Yet compared with the first group,the scores for the group with 3 times of pressing and the group with 6 times of pressing are statistically varied(P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively).Again,compared with the group with 3 times of pressing,the scores for the group with 6 times of pressing are still statistically different(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupressure 3 times,6 times group has obvious curative effect in the treatment of insomnia.2.Acupressure for 6 times works better than for 3 times in terms of improving sleep quality,shortening the time for falling asleep,increasing sleeping time,improving sleeping efficiency and weeding out sleeping obstacles.3.Acupressure for 6 times also works better than for 3 times in terms of improving major symptom including dreaminess,festless sleep and light sleep.4.The effectiveness of curing insomnia among university students is in positive correlation with the frequency of acupressure. |
