Background/Aims:To determine location of LSTs(Lateral Spreading Tumor)of colon,to find out the relation between age distribution and pathology of tumor, types of tumor and location of tumor.Methodology:We retrospectively analyzed data from patients who came for treatment in 2nd affiliated hospital of Kunming medical university with lateral spreading tumor in colon between march 2015-December 2017.A data was collected according to the Patient's Age,Location of lesion, lesion size, types of lesions, and pathological reports and its treatment methods.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS,version 17.0(SPSS,Chicago,IL).Patients Demographic were analysed by using descriptive statistical method.Univariate analysis for endoscopic type was performed by using the pearson X2 test. The stepwise logistic regression model was adopted to perform multivariate analysis on factors for endoscopic type,All reported P values were P<0.005 was considered statistically significant. Results:This study included data from 153 patients.Factors associated were average age, gender, location, types whether it is granular or non-granular,diameter of the tumor, pathology whether it is LIGN(Low Grade Intra-Epithelial Neoplasia)or polypoid hyperplasia,HIGN(High Grade Intra-Epithelial Neoplasia)or carcinoma; In this study, average years of patient to treat for lateral spreading tumor is 57.4±12.1.1)The ratio of male was higher than ratio of female[1.06:1].2)The most common sites for lateral spreading tumor is caecum in compare to other sites and the most common types of tumor found were Non-granular types.3)Diameter of lesion<2mm were maximum in number. Therefore,to rule out the lateral spreading tumor in colon whether it is only tumor or carcinoma, one must consider the treatment whether to treat with ESD,or EMR,or EPMR according to the lesion size.LIGN(Low Grade Intra-Epithelial Neoplasia)or polypoid hyperplasia were found in maximum number of patients in pathological reports.4)Univariate analyses showed the following variables were likely to be associated with endoscopic types:age(p=0.000),gender(p=0.000),location(p=0.000),pathology(p=0.0148),diameter(p=0.000).5)In multivariate analyses, factors affecting lateral spreading tumor associated with endoscopic types are location(OR 14.53,95%CI=1.569-134.538,P Value=0.0184)and pathology(OR 5.32,95%CI=2.386-11.859,P Value=0.0000)and factors which are not associated with endoscopic types are age(OR 0.51,95%CI=0.233-1.098,P Value=0.0846),gender(0R 0.99,95%CI=0.426-2.319,P Value=0.9898)and diameter(OR 0.59,95%CI=0.265-1.324,P Value=0.2019).Conclusion:1)The most common location of lateral spreading tumor is caecum. The Most common types of tumor found were Non granular types.2)In multivariate analyses, age, gender and diameter is not associated for endoscopic types but it's location and pathology are associated for endoscopic types.3)In this analysis, risk factor for location of left side colon is 14.53 and risk factor for HIGN,carcinoma of pathology findings is 5.32.Both of them found were Non-granular types.
