ObjectiveAlong with progress of science and technology and the rapid development of modern economy, people's living standards getting higher and higher. At the same time, the mode of life and the way in which we work has undergone a complete transformation. All of that has given a rise to the CS.In recent years the disease incidence showed the trend of younger. The disease was complicated and difficult to cure, which seriously affects the daily life of patients.Currently, patients with acute onset of acute disease are treated with oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, but their side effects are large which damaged gastric mucosa.More serious patients will choose surgical treatment, such as microendoscopic discectomy and percutaneous laser disk decompression, but surgical treatment is costly and with many complications, and often not accepted by patients.Compared with surgical therapy, acupuncture has the advantage of green, safe, good effect and easy operation can easily accepted and widely used in the treatment of cervical spondylosis of neck type with wind-cold-damp syndrome clinically. In this study,we used two therapy:the warm needle moxibustion and acupuncture,to compare the clinical effect in treating cervical spondylosis of neck type with wind-cold-damp syndrome.Based on the study,we hope find a way to make greatest advantage in treating cervical spondylosis of neck type with wind-cold-damp syndrome in order to highlight the feature of moxibustion, such as fast?cheap?convenient and easy.MethodsIn the study, the targets are selected from department of outpatien t and ward of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital ofGuangdong Province.60 cases of patients with diagnosis of cervical spond ylosis of neck type with wind-cold-damp syndrome were randomly divided in to observation group and control group, each of 30 cases. The observationgroup was treated by warm needle moxibustion, while the control group wa s treated by acupuncture. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores and theNorthwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire(NPQ)were used to evaluate the cl inical effect. The above questionnaires were used before and after the tr eatment.SPSS 19.0 was used to analyze the data.ResultsAfter the treatment, two therapeutic methods made great difference in reducing the pain scale,,which had very significant difference after the statistical analysis(P <0.05),it showed that warm needle moxibustion group and acupuncture group were all effective in alleviating pain, stiffness and cervical vertebral joints function. After the end of the treatment, the pain scale, the every index and total score in the observation group were better than those of the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.05),which showed warm needle moxibustion group was better than acupuncture group in alleviating pain, stiffness and cervical vertebral joints function.Compared the heal, excellent, effective and invalid of the two groups after treatment, there was statistical significant between the two groups(P <0.05).ConclusionThe two methods of treatment all had significant curative effect and could relieve the symptoms of patients.Compared the improve of each index, the warm needle moxibustion group was better than acupuncture group. So the curative effect of the warm needle moxibustion was superior to the acupuncture group.Anyway, the warm needle moxibustion was a traditional therapy which was convenient, green and secure and it should be widely used in clinic.
