ObjectiveBy collation of ancient medical books about Diebetic Nephropathy(DN)and modern medical doctor Professor Nizhi Yang's outpatient cases, with the aid of modern data mining techniques, this thesis investigates ancient and modern medical doctors' medication ideas on DN and their evoluation laws, and studies the curative effect of Professor Nizhi Yang's clinical medication on DN patients.MethodsThis thesis uses the fifth edition of "Zhong Hua Yi Dian' as the search tool. The searching was carried out by using "Shenxiao","Xiaoshen","Neixiao","Xiaxiao" and "Shenke" to obtain the articles, which were then used to create a database as well as to extract the prescription information. The prescription information obtained was then used as an input to the "Chinese medicine inherit assistant platform" for analysis in order to obtain the prescription laws. Also, based on the collation of the clinical cases of DN patients of Professor Nizhi Yang,a famous Chinese medical doctor of experience from the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangdong Province, from 2007 to 2017,an Excel database was created and a systematic analysis was carried out on the patients' general information, first visits and their subjective symptoms, and the variances of multiple measurements with single factors were calculated for objective indices, such as 24 h urinary albumin, serum creatinine, uric acid, blood sugar and blood fat, using SPSS22.The prescriptions were used as inputs to the "Chinese medicine inherit assistant platform" for analysis in order to obtain the prescription laws, which were then compared with those of acient doctors to obtain the evolution laws.ResultsBy data mining,it was found that in ancient times the four nature of drugs frequently used for DN included Warm and Neutra. The Five flavors of drugs frequently used included Sweet,Bitter and Hot.The core prescription included drugs from "Shenqiwan",such as Radix rehmanniae,Fructus Corni, yam,Alisma orientalis,Poria cocos,Cortex Moutan, ginseng and Cinnamomum cassia, which indicates that acient dialectical medication for DN paid more attention on the ajustment of kidney function.By data mining,it was found that the four nature and five flavors of drugs that Professor Nizhi Yang frequently used was in substantial agreement with the ancient. The core prescription included drugs such as Glycyrrhiza uralensis,Radix salviae miltiorrhizae,Radix Astragali,Dodder seed,Fructus Corni,Peach kernel,Paeonia lactiflora,Ligustrum lucidum,Radix Polygoni Multiflori,Eupatorium adenophorum, and Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, which indicates that Professor Nizhi Yang's dialectical medication on DN take not only Replenishing Qi and Promoting Blood Circulation but also Tonifying Liver and Kidney as method to improve the function of the kidney. This thesis used statistical methods to study the 54 clinical cases of DN patients of Professor Nizhi from the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangdong Province. The restrospective analysis found that the patients had an improvement rate of 100% in their subjective symptoms after mdeication and with a significant improvement rate of up to 22%.Their 24 h unrinary albumin,UA,Glu,TC all dropped and the Scr stabilised, which suggests that Professor Nizhi Yang's medication can effectively reduce DN patients' albumminuria, protect renal functionality and delay the development of entering the final state of renal diseases.ConclusionCompared with ancient medical doctors, modern doctor Professor Nizhi Yang inherit their ideas of improving the kidney function and improve them based on modern patients' characteristics. Her medication has proved effective and has set a good example for modern dialectical medication for DN.
