As a kind of necessary trace element,Selenium?Se?has a very close relationship with human health.In this paper,the inhibitory effect of selenium nanoparticles?SeNPs?on H2O2-induced oxidative damage of vascular endothelial cells induced by EA.hy 926was investigated.In addition,the effects of selenium-enriched tea polysaccharide on cardiovascular complications were also investigated.The cells were pretreated with low concentration?0.5 and 1?M?selenium nanoparticles for 24 h in vitro and then treated with H2O2?0.25 and 0.5 mM?for 24 h to determine cell viability and associated oxidative stress markers.It showed that low concentration of nano-selenium could inhibit H2O2-induced vascular endothelial cell injury by MTT assay and lactate dehydrogenase activity assay.With malondialdehyde?MDA?,superoxide dismutase?SOD?,glutathione?GSH?and glutathione peroxidase?GPx?used as oxidative stress markers,the results showed that nano-selenium decreased lipid peroxidation?increased MDA content?and increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes SOD and GPx.The results showed that low concentration of nano-selenium could have a protective effect on vascular endothelial cell injury induced by H2O2.The type 2 diabetes model mice with insulin resistance were established by being fed with high fat diet and injected STZ.The effects of selenium-enriched tea polysaccharide on diabetic mice were observed.It significantly showed increased levels of TG,TC and LDL-C in STZ-induced diabetic mice,except for the level of HDL-C.However,the MSe group significantly reduced the levels of TG,TC and LDL-C in diabetic mice and significantly increased the HDL-C level in diabetic mice and improved dyslipidemia.From the myocardial HE staining,selenium group could improve diabetic heart disease.From aortic arch HE staining,vascular lesions of selenium group have been improved on some level.The results showed that selenium-enriched tea polysaccharide could decrease the content of MDA,increase the level of GSH,the activity of SOD and GPx in diabetic mice compared with normal control mice.The above results showed that selenium-enriched tea polysaccharide had a certain effect on the treatment of diabetes complicated with cardiovascular injury.
