Objective:To explore the clinical features and prognosis of laryngeal non-squamous cell carcinoma.Method:Twenty-two patients with non-squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx treated in our department from January 2001 to December 2017 were selected as the study subjects, and the clinical features, pathological classification and prognosis of different types of laryngeal non-squamous cell carcinoma were compared. Results:Among 22 cases of laryngeal non-squamous cell carcinoma,14 cases(63.6%)were found in the superior glottic region,5 cases(22.7%)in the glottic region,1 case in the inferior glottic region(4.5%)and 1 case in the transglottic region(4.5%).In 22 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma of the tumor in general form noduler mass type 16 cases(72.7%),ulcer type 3 cases(13.7%),type polyp in 2 cases(9.1%),cauliflower type 1 case(4.5%).In 22 patients,6 patients had cervical lymph node metastasis, and the metastasis rate was 27%.Unilateral lymph node metastasis is 5 cases(1 case of adenocarcinoma,1 case of neuroendocrine carcinoma,1 cases of carcinosarcoma,1 case of mucous epidermoid carcinoma,1 case of atypical carcinoid),1 case of double side lymph node metastasis(for small cell carcinoma). Two patients had neck lymph node metastasis during follow-up,including neuroendocrine carcinoma and carcinosarcoma.Surgical treatment was performed on all 22 patients, including 6 patients who underwent laser laryngectomy under supportive laryngoscope, and 16 patients who underwent surgery on the external neck according to their conditions.Postoperative follow-up up to now,1 year survival rate was 63.6%(14 cases / 22 cases),3 year survival rate was 27.2%(6 cases / 22 cases),5-year survival rate was 22.7%(5 cases / 22 cases).Conclusion:1)non-squamous cell carcinoma of larynx tends to occur in the upper glottis;2)the general shape of the most common non-squamous cell carcinoma of larynx is nodular mass.3)due to the characteristics of tumor submucosal growth, the preoperative pathological positive rate is low,and multiple biopsy is often required;4)high lymph node metastasis rate;5)surgical resection is the preferred treatment method, among which the hematopoietic system derived from malignant tumors can be first treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy;6)low five-year survival rate and poor prognosis.
