ObjectiveTo approach the post-treatment quality of life of patients with acute leukemia,and to explore the influencing factors of patients with acute leukemia receiving regular re-examination;To provide evidences for caregivers,social workers and regulatory authorities to improve post-treatment quality of life and for further application of the nursing interventions.MethodsA total of 174 acute leukemia patients during regular reexamination period were investigated with self-made questionnaire,Chinese version of cancer quality of life questionnaire,EORTC QLQ-C30 and Eastern cooperative oncology group,performance status,ECOG PS.The collected data were entered into the database and subject to statistical analysis using SPSS20.0 software.Using univariate analyses to compare the quality of life in different groups.Exploring the influencing factors by applying multiple linear regression with stepwise procedure.Results1.The survey findings showed that the overall quality of life score of acute leukemia patients during regular reexamination period was(81.8±19.8).In the functional scale,the scores was highest in physical functioning(92.9±8.8)and lowest in social functioning(81.3±21.6).In the symptom scale,financial difficulties score was highest,the financial difficulty score was 33.3(0-66.7);with minimum 0 and maximum100.The fatigue score was in second,the fatigue score was 11.1(0-33.3).with minimum 0 and maximum 66.7.While nausea and vomiting score the lowest,with minimum 0 and maximum 50,the nausea and vomiting score was 0(0-0).2.The results of single factor analysis showed that: age,marital status,whether or not to resume work and ECOG score showed statistically significant difference in physical functioning(P<0.05);Gender,age,place of residence,marital status,type of residence,whether or not to resume work and ECOG score had statistically significant difference in the role functioning(P<0.05);ECOG score was statistically significant difference in the emotional functioning(P<0.05);Whether or not to resume work and ECOG score had statistically significant difference in the cognitive functioning(P<0.05);Age,marital status,type of residence,whether or not to resume work and ECOG score were statistically significant in social functioning(P<0.05).Age,marital status,type of residence,whether or not to resume work,whether or not with other diseases and ECOG score had a statistically significant difference in the overall quality of life(P<0.05).3.The quality of life in patients with acute leukemia of each functional dimension multiple linear regression analysis,the result showed: Age,whether or not to resume work,ECOG score were influence physical functioning.Place of residence,whether or not to resume work,degree of education and ECOG score were influence role functioning.ECOG score were influence emotional functioning.Whether or not with other diseases and ECOG score were influence cognitive functioning.ECOG score and residence type were influence social functioning.ECOG score,age,whether or not to resume work were influence the overall quality of life.ConclusionsMore attention should be paid to the quality of life of acute leukemia patients during regular reexamination period.The factors including,e.g.,age,whether or not return to work,ECOG score affect patients quality of life in varying extents,based on which appropriate interventions and health education could be provided.Patients with acute leukemia receiving regular re-examination are typically in severe financial difficulties,which warrants more national financial support to improve quality of life of these patients.
