Background and purpose: China cancer registration center statistics show that the new cancer patients in China increased 2.5 % per year,and lung cancer rate is the highest.Throughout the last half century,the incidence and death rate of lung cancer in the world is increasing year by year.The situation is very serious.Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is a common tumor,accounting for 80-85 % of the total lung cancer.About 75 % of NSCLC patients were found to be in the middle or late stage and had a low 5 year survival rate.At the same time,non-small cell lung cancer was less sensitive to radiotherapy,chemotherapy and immunotherapy.Western medicine maybe the most traditional treatment of tumors,it has curative effect in the treatment of tumors,but it also has strong side effects,while Chinese medicine has the advantages of low toxicity,regulating immunity and multisystem protection.Looking for an effective treatment is an urgent problem for non-small cell lung cancer.The treatment of malignant tumor with antitumor Chinese medicine is a kind of tumor therapy with Chinacharacteristics.After nearly 10 years of research and development,many kinds of traditional Chinese medicine preparations have been approved for routine treatment of tumors.However,in the clinical practice,it is found that the objective curative effect of single Chinese traditional medicine preparation is often not ideal.There is little objective comparison between the curative effects of different traditional Chinese medicine preparations.In recent years,it has been found that ferulic acid is an antitumor drug with many targets.The antitumor effect of ferulic acid can be achieved by many mechanisms,and its properties are stable and toxicity is low.Sodium ferulate was used to treat non-small cell lung cancer cells A549 in this study.Combined chemotherapy drug PTX treatment.Aim to investigate the effect of these drugs on apoptosis.At the same time,the experimental basis is laid down for the use of sodium ferulate in the clinical treatment of lung cancer and the combination of Western medicine order to reduce the usage of Western medicine.Research methods:The proliferation of A549 cells was detected by MTT,apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry,and the expressions of apoptosis related proteins Bcl-2,Bax and Cyt C were detected by Western blotting.Conclusion:Sodium ferulate can inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells,and express as time and concentration dependence.Compared with the normal culture group,1 g/L and2 g/L Sodium Ferulate groups showed significant differences at 24?48?72h(P<0.01).Sodium Ferulate induced A549 cells apoptosis,and Sodium Ferulate combined with Paclitaxel promoted the apoptosis of A549 cells,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Compared with the normal culture group,the expression of Bcl-2was decreased,Bax was increased,and Cyt C expression had no significant change at Sodium Ferulate treatment group.Compared with Sodium Ferulate treatment group,the expression of Bcl-2 was decreased,Bax was increased,and Cyt C was decreased significantly in mitochondria in Sodium Ferulate combined with Paclitaxel,and all these differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion: 1.Sodium Ferulate combined with Paclitaxel could promote apoptosis,which may be related to activation of mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.2.Sodium Ferulate combined with Paclitaxel may be to be a new combination of chemotherapy drugs for lung cancer.
