At present, the fixed appliance is the most effective method to treat the malocclusion. However,in the traditional treatment process, the prediction of the orthodontic force and the effect of the treatment mostly rely on doctors’ experience which may hurt the patient and reduce the effective of the treatment. If the relation between the shape of the archwire and the tooth movement is well found, orthodontic doctors can make the orthodontic plan considering the patients’ malocclusion situation and the orthodontic force generated by this archwire. This may improve the effective of the orthodontic treatment and alleviate patient’s pain. This study has carried out from the following aspects. In the previous studies, the tooth movement couldn’t be simulated by the rigid models. The orthodontic force calculated by these studies based on the rigid model couldn’t be used by the orthodontic doctors to predict the orthodontic force and make the treatment. Thus, the wax model is used in this study to simulate the tooth movement. And the feasibility of the simulating of the tooth movement by the wax model is proved. The resistance model of the wax model is calculated. The T-shaped loop is used to study the tooth movement.Base on its deformation characteristic and the beam deformation theory, the T-shape orthodontic force prediction model is established. The dynamic force prediction model is established considering the wax resistance model. And the tooth movement prediction model affected by the T-shape loop is presented. The utility arch is used to study the tooth rotation.Base on beam theory under combined load and the lateral buckling theory of prism, the utility arch orthodontic moment prediction model is established. The dynamic moment prediction model is established considering the wax resistance model. And the tooth rotation prediction model affected by the utility arch is presented. The orthodontic force and moment measuring method are proposed considering the orthodontic process of the T-shape loop and the utility arch. The orthodontic moment and force measuring device based on the six-dimensional force sensor are proposed. The high precision wax model manufacturing method using alginate is proposed. The orthodontic force and moment generated by different T-shaped loop and the utility arch is measured. The accuracy of the dynamic orthodontic force and moment prediction model is proved. The tooth movement and rotation measuring method are proposed considering the orthodontic process of the T-shape loop and the utility arch. The tooth movement is measured by marking the highest point of the lateral ridge of the tooth. The tooth rotation measuring device based on the angle sensor is proposed. The tooth movement and tooth rotation generated by different T-shaped loop and the utility arch is measured. The accuracy of the tooth movement and rotation prediction model is proved.
