| Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of blistering moxibustion in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods 66 patients with knee osteoarthritis who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to the random number table,33 in each of the treatment group(foaming moxibustion group)and the control group(western medicine group). The treatment group was treated with blistering moxibustion(cantharides tincture foaming). The inner knee eye, outer knee eye, xuehai, liangqiu and other points were selected, every two weeks post one times,a total of three times, six weeks for a course of treatment. The control group was treated with the drug of oral glucosamine hydrochloride(otellin),750 mg each time, take it after meal, twice a day for six weeks for a course. Both groups were treated for a course of treatment. The visual analogue pain scale(VAS)and the Mc Master osteoarthritis survey scale(WOMAC)were used as evaluation indexes to observe the improvement of the symptoms and signs and to compare the clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients before treatment,6weeks after treatment, and 3 months after follow-up.SPSS 20.0 statistical software was used to establish database files for statistical analysis.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results There was no significant differencein in age, gender, disease location, course of disease,VAS score and WOMAC scale(painful, stiff, joint function)score before treatment between the two groups(P>0.05),which indicated that the baseline data were comparable between the two groups; After 6 weeks of comparable treatment, the VAS score and WOMAC scale(painful, stiff, joint function)score of the two groups were significantly lower than that before treatment, and the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of follow-up,VAS score and WOMAC scale(painful, stiff, joint function)score of the treatment group was superior to the control group(P < 0.05),which showed that the long-term effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.Excluding shedding cases, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.5%,and that of the control group was 71.9%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The short-term effect and long-term effect of blistering moxibustion treatment have advantage over glucosamine hydrochloride for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Both blistering moxibustion and glucosamine hydrochloride can alleviate the pain and stiffness symptoms, and improve the functional activities of the knee joint of the patients of nee osteoarthritis, but blistering moxibustion has better effects and is worthy of clinical application. |
