Objective: to investigate the difference of serum cystatin C in different period of cerebral infarction and its correlation with other risk factors. Methods: a total of 400 patients and controls from the first affiliated hospital of xinjiang medical university were randomly selected as study subjects, including 100 patients in the acute phase of cerebral infarction(onset time < 2 weeks),100 patients in the convalescent phase of cerebral infarction(onset time 2 weeks to 6 months),and 200 healthy subjects in the control group.Subjects' general information, blood lipid level, cystatin C,homocysteine, history of hypertension, history of diabetes, urea, creatinine level, fasting blood glucose and BMI were collected.Variance analysis was used to compare the differences of the above factors among the three groups. At the same time, correlation analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between CysC and triglycerides,cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein, lipoprotein a,homocysteine, fasting glucose, creatinine, urea and BMI in the case group. Results: age, cystatin C,homocysteine, lipoprotein a,urea, fasting blood glucose and BMI of patients in the case group were all higher than those in the control group, and serum hdl-c was lower than that in the NC group, with statistically significant differences(P <0.05).The serum CysC level in the acute stage group was(0.99±0.45)mg/L,higher than that in the recovery stage group(0.94±0.20)mg/L,and the serum CysC level in the recovery stage group was also higher than that in the NC group(0.86±0.27)mg/L,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum CysC was positively correlated with Hcy,urea, creatinine, fasting glucose and BMI.There was a negative correlation with hdl-c(P <0.05).There was no correlation with cholesterol, triglycerides,LDL and lipoprotein a.Conclusion:CysC is more sensitive to reflect the condition of patients with acute cerebral infarction, and it may interact with Hcy,hdl-c,urea,creatinine and blood glucose levels to participate in the occurrence and development of cerebralinfarction.
