| Health communication is a branch of communication science.Health is closely related to human life and is of great significance.Pregnant women’s school is an organization of health communication which disseminates maternal health knowledge for pregnant women and their families.With the development of society,maternal health needs are increasing.With the implementation of the "two-child" policy in China,pregnant women’s school is becoming more and more important.This paper takes health communication as a theoretical perspective and takes the pregnant women’s school in Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital as the research object,and studies the social support in pregnant women’s school,using participatory observation,interview,literature analysis and case study.The purpose of this study is to explore the reflection and transmission path of social support,as well as the significance of social support to health communication in pregnant women’s school from the perspective of health communication.The main body of this paper is divided into three parts: the first part is to analyze the background and significance of pregnant women’s schools from the perspective of health communication;the second part is to study the social support in pregnant women’s schools from the perspective of health communication to improve the physical and psychological health of the audience;the third part is to study the communication path of various social support in pregnant women’s schools.The study found that health education is the main manifestation of health communication in pregnant women’s schools.Information support brought by health education is the most important social support in pregnant women’s schools which increases the health knowledge of the audience and improves the health level of the audience through the dissemination.In addition to information support,in the environmental interaction within the pregnant women’s schools,the respect given by medical staff,the spiritual comfort brought by encouragement and comfort between pregnant women,and the care brought by accompanying family members all support pregnant women for mental health.They provide emotional support,social support and accompanying support to pregnant women.Social support in pregnant women’s schools is realized through health communication.Information and spiritual social support in pregnant women’s schools play a common role to improve the physical andpsychological health of the audience.The communication path of social support in pregnant women’s schools can be divided into organizational communication,interpersonal communication,mass communication and non-verbal communication.First,Medical staff provide social support through organizational communication.Medical staff’s persuasion skills generally tend to be friendly,humorous,loving,persuasive skills can enhance the performance of social support,but also promote health communication.The organizational communication path of social support is permeated with power,the control of power in the organization is weakened by social support and the Preventive Characteristics of pregnant women’s schools,so its social support appears friendly,intimate and not strong.Second,Social support transmitted between pregnant women belongs to interpersonal communication.In interpersonal communication,social support is realized through chatting.In this communication process,interpersonal relationship affects the communication of social support.Because of the "friendly" communication characteristics of pregnant women’s school,pregnant women obtain positive evaluation and realize their optimized selves through social support.;third,mass communication is another way to convey social support among pregnant women,and a community of mutual assistance of interests and emotional needs;fourth,social support of accompanying personnel is realized mainly through space distance and physical contact these two non-verbal forms. |
