Analysis Of The Correlation Between Aldosterone And Body Mass Index In Primary Hypertension Patients

Objective To analyse the correlation between aldosterone and body mass index in primary hypertension patients.Methods Study subjects were patients initially diagnosed with primary hypertension selected from February 2015 to November 2016 in Urumqi,Fukang City,Kashi,in total of 1205.Analyses were conducted in those patients to investigate the correlation between aldosterone and body mass index.Results There were statistically significant differences in BMI between the aldosterone groups(t=-7.77,P<0.05).BMI in the aldosterone?0.17 ng/ml group was greater than that in the aldosterone < 0.17 ng/ml group.There was a positive correlation between aldosterone and BMI(r=0.163,P < 0.05).The differences of age,systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),Serum kalium,serum natrium,angiotensin ?and ? were also statistically significant(P<0.05).The age and potassium level in the hyperaldosterone group were lower than that in the aldosterone<0.17 ng/ml group whereas SBP,DBP,blood sodium,angiotensin 1 and 2 were greater than those in the group with aldosterone<0.17 ng/ml.The difference of systolic blood pressure,angiotensin II,triglyceride,aldosterone,high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein in different body mass index groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),and angiotensin II in non-obese group.Angiotensin II in the non-obese group was greater than that in the obese group,and systolic blood pressure,triglyceride,aldosterone,high density lipoprotein,and low density lipoprotein were lower than the obese group.In multiple linear regression models,BMI,blood sodium,DBP and age had significant effects on the level of aldosterone(P < 0.05).Conclusion The level of aldosterone was correlated with BMI,showing a positive correlation between aldosterone and BMI.With an increase of BMI,aldosterone increased accordingly.
