Objective:To observe the effect of Bazhen Decoction on pain improvement and quality of life after minimally invasive internal fixation for lumbar disc herniation. Methods:The patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation who met the inclusion criteria were divided into control group and experimental group by random digital envelope method. Both groups underwent minimally invasive transforaminal interbody fusion. On the first day after operation, the control group was given oral medicines such as nutritional nerve,anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, combined with moderate and reasonable functional exercise. After operation, the experimental group was given Bazhen Decoction on the basis of the treatment of the control group. The drug was administered for 2 weeks. The patients were followed up before operation,1 week,1month and 3 months after operation. The total amount of oral analgesics,VAS score,ODI score,TCM syndrome score and bed rest time were observed and recorded before and after treatment, and the statistical analysis was made. Results:With the prolongation of treatment time, the dosage of oral analgesics decreased in the experimental group, and increased in the control group. The dosage of oral analgesics in the experimental group was less than that in the control group(P < 0.05);the VAS score and ODI score of the two groups were significantly better than those before treatment(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score and ODI score between the two groups(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in bed rest time between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Bazhen Decoction can reduce the dosage of oral analgesics, relieve postoperative pain and improve the quality of life in patients with lumbar disc herniation after minimally invasive internal fixation.
