Objective:Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI)is used to investigate the difference of blood supply in different regions of normal adult femoral head.Patients and Methods:A retrospective analysis includes 25 adults(23males,2females)who underwent DCE-MRI scanning in our hospital between 1/3/2015 and 1/6/2018,A total of 25 right hips were taken.and the mean age of the patients was 47.5years(range30–58 years). The femoral head is assumed to be a sphere, and each femoral head is divided into three parts from three directions(coronal plane, sagittal plane and transverse plane)respectively in equal proportion on T1-weighted images. In the coronal plane, three equal parts were defined as coronalanterior(CA),coronalcentral(CC),coronalposterior(CP)respectively from front to back.In the sagittal plane, three equal parts were defined as sagittallateral(SL),sagittalcentral(SC),,sagittalmedial(SM)respectively from outside to inside. In the transverse plane, three equal parts were defined as transversesuperior(TS),transversecentral(TC),transverseinferior(TI)respectively from the top to the bottom. Each part consists of nine quadrants,a total of twenty-seven quadrants of each femoral head. Each ROI was positioned in area of middle of quadrant,twenty-seven 10mm~2 ROIs were drawn on DCE images. The DCE-MRI perfusion parameters(TTP,fEmax,Emax)were measured and compared in the coronal plane, sagittal plane, and transverse plane respectively of the femoral head. All measurement data were analyzed by using SPSS 25.0 statistica software.Results:1.In the coronal plane, there were no statistical differences between the paired parts of the any values.2.In the transverse plane,The maximum of enhancement at first past(fEmax)and maximum of enhancement(Emax)were lower in the transverse superior zone than in the transverse central zone(p=0.024 and p=0.001)and the transverse inferior zone(p=0.005 and p=0.018).Time to peak(TTP)was higher in the transverse superior zone than in the transverse central zone and the transverse inferior zone(p=0.005 and p=0.018).3.In the sagittal plane,fEmax and Emax were lower in the sagittal lateral zone than in the sagittal central zone(p=0.019 and p=0.041)and sagittal medial zone(p=0.047 and p=0.011).TTP was higher in the sagittal lateral zone than in the sagittal central zone and the sagittal medial zone(p=0.014 and p=0.010).There were no statistical differences found between other paired zones of the any values. Conclusion:Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance realizes a noninvasive study of microcirculation in femoral head. When DCE-MRI parameters are used to analyze the perfusion of different regions in the normal femoral head of adults, the perfusion on the transversesuperior and sagittallateral zones of the normal femoral head of adults are poor.
