The concept of essential drugs was first proposed by the World Health Organization(WHO).In 1979,China actively responded to the call of the World Health Organization(WHO)and began preparations for the development of the National Essential Drugs List.In 1982,China released the first edition of the National Essential Medicine.Catalogue(Western Medicine Part),published the second edition of the National Essential Drugs List in 1996,beginning to cover Chinese medicine varieties.By 2018,the National Essential Drugs List has released 9 versions, along with the National Essential Drugs List of China Constantly renewed and improved, and made significant contributions to safeguarding the safety and economy of the people. However, due to the lateness of China's national essential medicine system and the particularity and complexity of the national conditions, there are still many problems in the national essential medicines list.In order to understand the adjustment of the 2018 edition of the National Essential Drugs List and discover its current problems and deficiencies, this paper first conducted a comparative study of the 2012 edition and the 2018 edition of the National Essential Drugs List. The results show that compared with the 2012 edition,China's 2018 edition of the country The list of essential drugs has improved a lot,but there are still some problems. In view of the problems existing in the 2018 edition of the National Essential Drugs List, this paper further studies and analyzes its auxiliary drugs, shortage of essential drugs, convergence with medical insurance catalogues, and drug use in children. The results show that in addition to the problems of auxiliary drugs, shortage of essential drugs, and the connection with the medical insurance catalogue, the problems of children's medication in China are more prominent. However, there is no catalogue of essential medicines for special children in China. Therefore, this paper compares and analyzes the 2018 edition of the National Essential Drugs List of Antibiotics and the WHO Children's Essential Drugs List of Antibiotics. The results of the analysis indicate that there are still some problems in the 2018 edition of the National Essential Drugs List. For example, the number of drugs collected is generally small;the dosage forms and specifications of antibacterial drugs are insufficient, and the drug needs of special populations such as children and the elderly are not fully taken into consideration;the classification of antibacterial drugs is not perfect;the precautions and indications for antibacterial drugs are lacking. In view of the above problems, this paper has carried out a more in-depth analysis of the causes, and put forward some targeted opinions and suggestions from the regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical institutions, the public, etc,in order to further improve our country. The Essential Drugs List provides some references.
