Objective:To investigate the role of autoantibodies, blood glucose,T lymphocyte subsets, thyroid function and tumor markers in the pathogenesis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome(GBS).Methods:97 patients who were hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2013 to January 2019 and had been diagnosed with GBS were matched with the similar gender and age of 77healthy controls.Relevant case data including age, gender, clinical manifestations, fasting blood glucose(FBG),T cell subsets, postprandial 2-hour blood glucose(PBG2h),autoantibody combination, thyroid function and thyroid antibody, tumor marker andglycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc),were studied and analyzed by statistical methods. Results:A total of 97 patients with Guillain-Barre Syndrome were enrolled in this study. There were 67 males and 30 females,male:female=2.23:1,of which the youngest age was 16 years old and the oldest was 85 years old.The average age was 49.95±18.03 years old.26 patients(26.80%)with the onset of spring,26 patients(26.80%)with the onset of summer,19patients(19.59%)with the onset of autumn, and 26patients(26.80%)with the onset of winter.24patients(24.74%)had upper respiratory tract infections and 2 cases(2.06%)had diarrhea.Compared with the control group, higher levels of fasting blood glucose(?~2=7.959,P=0.005)glycosylated hemoglobin(?~2=7.608,P=0.006),positive autoantibody combination(?~2=9.479,P=0.002),non-small cell lung cancer antigenic rate(?~2=4.487,P=0.034),and CD4+T/CD8+T>2(?~2=4.082,P=0.043)as well as a decreased level of CD8+T cells(t=-2.378,P=0.020)were detected in the GBS group. There was no statistical difference of the increased levels of thyroid dysfunction(?~2=3.812,P=0.051),postprandial blood glucose(?~2=0.125,P=0.723),CD4+T cells(t=0.180,P)=0.858)in GBS group compared with control group.According to Hughes'score scale,Patients with Guillain-Barre syndrome were divided into heavy group(18 cases)and light group(79 cases). There was no statistical difference in age(t=1.125,P=0.263),and gender(?~2=1.364,P=0.243)as well as the levels of autoantibody combination(?~2=0.046,P=0.829),thyroid dysfunction(?~2=0.202,P=0.653)and tumor markers(?~2=2.060,P=0.151)between the mild GBS group and the severe GBS group;however, there was a significant difference in the elevation of fasting blood glucose(?~2=10.247,P=0.001),CD4+T cells(t=2.939,P=0.007),CD4+T/CD8+T ratio(t=2.279,P=0.028)and cerebrospinal fluid protein(?~2=4.559,P=0.033)and a decreased level of CD8+T cells(t=-2.672,P=0.011)in severe GBS group compared to mild GBS group.Conclusion:1.The elevation of autoantibodies, fasting blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin,CD4+T/CD8+T ratio and a decreased level of CD8+T lymphocyte were related to Guillain-Barre Syndrome.2.The higher levels of fasting blood sugar,CD4+T lymphocyte,CD4+T/CD8+T ratio and cerebrospinal fluid protein as well as decreased CD8+T lymphocyte level were associated with severe Guillain Barre Syndrome.
