Objective:Facial paralysis has a great influence on the quality of life of patients.Facial nerve injury has always been a hot spot in medical research.In previous literature,the authors lack the detailed description of the establishment of animal models of facial nerve injury,so we have carried out a detailed study on the establishment of experimental animal models.Through the establishment of animal facial paralysis model,we hope to study the effects of various facial nerve repair methods,and provide guidance for experimental and clinical work.One of the best ways to repair facial nerve defects is autogenous nerve transplantation,such as transfacial nerve transplantation,peroneal nerve transplantation,and so on.Finding better ways to replace autogenous nerve transplantation quickly and easily in an emergency can reduce more damage to patients.When the emergency repair effect is not good,the saved autogenous nerve can be re-repaired.At present,tube technology has been extensively studied in many experiments.As a bridge of nerve defect,catheters provide a good environment for regulating the regeneration of nerve cells and molecules.In several catheters,venous catheters have been proven to be useful for clinical use,and their effectiveness has been further improved in the past few years.We hypothesize that the proximal end of the facial nerve defect in rabbits may have the potential for axon regeneration.We try to establish an animal model of facial nerve injury,design and use vein catheter as a scaffold,fill the nerve fragments into the vein catheter to promote facial nerve regeneration and repair,and evaluate its superiority over the traditional autologous nerve transplantation.Methods:Study on animal models: the facial nerve models of type ? and type ? rabbits were compared and observed for 3 months.The recorded data were analyzed by spss statistical software.According to the nerve defect repair study: 18 adult male rabbits were divided into two groups: group A: 6 rabbits were sutured directly(6 rabbits in group A were selected to establish facial paralysis model successfully,6 rabbits in);B group were autogenous nerve transplantation);Group C(n = 6): nerve fragment-vein catheter transplantation group(n = 6).All the above experiments were carried out on the right face of rabbits,and the left face was used as a negative control.Group B and group C were designed to reconstruct long 1~2cm nerve defect.Facial expression analysis and compound muscle action potential(CMAP)analysis were performed at 2,4,8 and 12 weeks after operation.Then the rabbits were killed,the nerve samples were prepared,the histological parameters and immunohistochemistry were used to compare the regeneration of group A,group B and group C after repair.Conclusion:When making the model of facial nerve defect in rabbits,the rabbits with zygomatic and buccal branches of facial nerve should be cut off at the combination of zygomatic and buccal branches.Venous catheters filled with nerve fragments can be used as a repair method for facial nerve injury in emergency trauma.
