ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect on left ventricular systolic function and synchronicity by using two-dimensional strain imaging and peak strain dispersion.MethodsThirty-nine patients with atrial septal defect diagnosed and underwent percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect in our hospital from March 2018 to August 2018 were selected as the case group(ASD group).Forty healthy volunteers matched gender and age in the same period were selected as the control group.Two-dimensional dynamic images of three consecutive cardiac cycles, including the apical two-chamber(2AC),long-axis(LAX)and four-chamber(4AC)were collected.Left ventricular systolic global longitudinal strain(GLPS),apical LAX(GLPS-LAX),apical 4AC(GLPS-4AC),apical 2AC(GLPS-2AC)and left ventricular 18-segment longitudinal peak strain dispersion(PSD)were calculated by EchoPAC software. The differences of parameters between the ASD group 1d before closure and the control group, and between the ASD group 1d before and after closurewere compared respectively.Results1.GLPS-LAX ? GLPS-4AC ? GLPS-2AC and GLPS in ASD group before operation were lower than those in the control group(P=0.000?0.000?0.015?0.000),and PSD in ASD group was higher than that in the control group(P=0.000).2.GLPS-LAX?GLPS-4AC?GLPS-2AC and GLPS in ASD group after operation were higher than those before operation(P=0.000?0.122?0.067?0.001),and PSD in ASD group after operation was lower than that before operation(P=0.000).Conclusion1.Left ventricular systolic function and synchronicity in ASD patients were improved after percutaneous closure.2.Two-dimensional strain imaging technology can noninvasively, conveniently and quantitatively analyze left ventricular function at an early stage.3.PSD may be a new parameter for assessing cardiac synchronization.
