Objective:Qufengdingchuan-decoction is an experimental prescription from an old doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is used widely in clinical practices. While it lacks a complete and normative evaluation of its efficacy and safety.Aims to explore the efficacy of Qufengdingchuan-decoction treating the wind-phlegm syndrome of bronchial asthma in acute attack stage, this study was combined with asthma control scores and objective indicators, under the guidance of TCM theory, and at the same time, followed the randomized control principle. This study hopes to provide new ideas and methods for clinical treatment,Expand the model of modem Chinese medicine in the treatment of asthma, and inherit even more innovate the academic thought of the old doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods:Patients with acute attack of bronchial asthma which met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each.Patients in the control group were treated only with the common western treatment, and patients in the treatment group were treated with the added Qinghuadingchuan-decoction for both one week.Symptoms and signs were recorded to calculate symptom scores and ACQ5(asthma control questionnaire)scores to evaluate the recovering status of acute attack of bronchial asthma before and after treatment. The serum also been tested to measure the concentrations of CRP(c-reactive-protein),EOS(eosinophil),IgE(Immunoglobulin),IL-6(interleukin-6),NLR(neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio),PLR(platelet-lymphocyte ratio)and pulmonary function test was also conducted by testing FEV?(forced expiratory volumein in first second)and PEF(Peak expiratory).Chi-Square test and Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test were conducted to compare every index between the treatment group and the control group.Results:(1)The efficiency rate of the treatment group was 96.7%,and the control group was 90.0%,Chi-Square test's result showed the significant difference(p<0.05).(2)After treatment, symptom scores of both treatment and control group were lower than before, and the symptom scores of treatment group were lower than the control group, significantly statistical differences were founded(p<0.05).(3)After treatment, symptom scores of TCM of the two groups were lower than before, and the symptom scores of treatment group were lower than the control group, there were significantly statistical differences(p<0.05).(4)The CRP?EOS?IgE?IL-6 had significant differences between the two group before and after treatment(p<0.05),and the level of CRP?EOS?IgE?IL-6 of treatment group were lower than the control group, significantly statistical differences were founded(p<0.05).The NLR and PLR had no difference between the two group before and after treatment(p>0.05).(5)Pulmonary function of two groups were improved after treatment, and the pulmonary function of the treatment group was better than the control group, differences were statistically significant.(6)After treatment, the ACQ5 scores of the treatment group and the control group were lower than before. The ACQ5 scores of the treatment group were lower than the control group, significant differences were founded(p<0.05).(7)there were no adverse reactions during treatment period.Conclusions:Qufengdingchuan-decoction with western medicine therapy can treat the acute attack of bronchial asthma by relieving symptoms, reducing inflammation markers and improving pulmonary function. The efficacy of Qufengdingchuan-decoction with western medicine therapy is better than the only western medicine therapy.
